Pong--an Asian girl thinks she's the next Taylor Hicks ... okay.
Sob story: Mom told her that looks matter and she's no Katharine McPhee ... okay.
She walks in and says "There's Taylor!"
The judges look around and see she's pointing at Taylor on the poster behind them ... okay.
Pong hollers through "Dancing in the Streets". Not good at all. She has a disturbingly low voice.
Pong: "I was nervous."
Pong is pinged :)
Taylor Hick's "Do I Make You Proud" plays as she walks out--LOL. Delusional.

LOL - my dream is over - at least her mom came with her.
Ohhh - this young man is pretty good - doing Willie Nelson - we have a winner.

This guy is good. He sang backup. Oh, he was good. Until he started to sing high. Got a little thin on the high notes.

Are you thinking of the Bush hating, conservative bashing, lesbian Margaret Cho?

There is no rule about already being a professional singer?
This guy has been on tour as a back-up

Finally a real singer--Brandon Rogers.
He sings wonderfully--a love song, of course.
Olvia and Paula nearly fall out of their chairs. Orgasmic sigh from both :)
Olivia: "I felt you in my heart" (cough)
Simon: "I can see this guy in the finals."
Brandon is the best so far tonight. He gets the golden ticket.

His high notes were not good.
Oh no. Old man coming up talking about someone who died before the auditions and Paula's crying. I can't even watch people cry without starting to cry. This is going to be ugly.
To: SandyInSeattle
he was pretty good but listenting of oln going on about how goodlooking he was made me want to puke....she was almost drooling....but then, so were randy and simon over the gold digger....and poor old paula is just THERE....

I think on the first show this season they let a female who had been a backup singer go on to Hollywood.

Paula doesn't look at Olivia - notice? Don't think Paula is happy about this addition.... Hmmm. Now that you mention it ...
When Joan Collins/Sager was on last week, she and Paula seemed to get along fairly well--Paula even asked to sit beside her. I'm not getting that feeling tonight with ONJ.

His high notes were not good. That's the problem, people think they need to be all over the place when they should stay within their range.
That's why I'll never try out. (Well, that and the fact that I'm old.) I can carry a tune, but my range is very limited. I sound hideous when I try to expand it.
I guess I'll just sit here and play armchair singing critic. :-)
