Fox News alert a few minutes ago says the Dover School Board lost their bid to have Intelligent Design introduced into high school biology classes. The federal judge ruled that their case was based on the premise that Darwin's Theory of Evolution was incompatible with religion, and that this premise is false.

At any rate, these words indicate Darwin wanted to distance himself from the author.

Who seems not to have been Marx. At any rate, you apparently want a refusal to make implied endorsements of unread works to sound somehow sinister. That's very unreasonable. It's little more than refusing to give others a blank check on your credibility account.

But why would Marx want to dedicate a book, or volume, to Darwin?

How Marx reasoned things is irrelevant to the diversity of life on Earth.

Yes. I'm a "Young Earther". I thought that was obvious.

Aww gee, it's just soo hard to live up to the amazing and brilliant example you've set, old man. LOL!

I know kid, but just keep trying.

Trying to be like me is a worthy goal.

I am unaware of any statement by ID advacates that has been translated into an experimental design, or which has lead to field research.

Oh. I see. Sorry, but I'll skip past your messages in the future. Young Earth Creationism is absurd.

... no living organism can ever spontaneously arise from lifeless matter ...

Have fun fulfilling this part of the prediction. You will have to anticipate every possible scenario for unguided abiogenesis.

Right, well I'm very much a layperson on virtually all things scientific, but from what I've read it seems cosmology might not have "answers" per se, but they do have some pretty well-founded estimates and observations on some of these astronomically fine-tuned constants which coincidentally were in place in the early universe and which seem requisite for life/universe as we know it. Some of these factors I guess are on the order of billions and even trillions-to-one, which apparently is outside the realm of statistical possibility. Anyway, I'm speaking loosely on this, but if I wanted to encourage the consideration of ID in schools, I'd promote more discussion of these questions in the context of science curriculum, and let the inferences and conclusions fall where they may.

What will actually happen in the United States in the not-too-distant future, is that Christian School and Home School graduates will be denied positions on science faculties at public universities, regardless of their academic level in the sciences.

This will eventually extend to medical colleges and all such like. The scholars union will not want Christian physicians. This happened in China in the 1950s and 60s, and it will happen here.

Eventually, Christian-schooled and Home-schooled young people will be considered to be psychologically abused. After all, we see comments even here on Free Republic that Christians who believe the Genesis Account of Creation to be lunatics. The actual word "lunatic" has been used many times on this forum for people who believe the Bible. A lunatic has a mental disorder, right? You would not leave children in homes under parents with a mental disorder, would you? Wouldn't the child-protective services say something about the safety of the children?

There will come a time when children who are taught that the Bible is the Final Authority will be removed from their homes. What might happen first, though, is that laws will be passed prohibiting churches from evangelizing persons under 18 years of age. This has been a restriction on the Baptist Union, Lutherans, the Pentecostals and others in Russia. It will come here.

Getting rid of the knowledge of God is not just a goal for government school curriculum, but for all education, for all children.

Grow up. You're behaving very badly in public.
.......................................

Is that all you have? I make no apology for condemning a deluded and corrupt man - Darwin - whose bizarre work has caused so much hell on earth.

The judge bought this lie [that it has failed to publish in peer-reviewed journals] hook, line, and sinker, and repeats it in his decision. Discovery org has a list of articles in scientific publications.

From page 88 of the judge's opinion, referring to Behe's own testimony:

On cross-examination, Professor Behe admitted that: “There are no peer reviewed articles by anyone advocating for intelligent design supported by pertinent experiments or calculations which provide detailed rigorous accounts of how intelligent design of any biological system occurred.” (22:22-23 (Behe)). Additionally, Professor Behe conceded that there are no peer-reviewed papers supporting his claims that complex molecular systems, like the bacterial flagellum, the blood-clotting cascade, and the immune system, were intelligently designed. (21:61-62 (complex molecular systems), 23:4-5 (immune system), and 22:124-25 (blood-clotting cascade) (Behe)). In that regard, there are no peer-reviewed articles supporting Professor Behe’s argument that certain complex molecular structures are “irreducibly complex.”17 (21:62, 22:124-25 (Behe)). In addition to failing to produce papers in peer-reviewed journals, ID also features no scientific research or testing. (28:114-15 (Fuller); 18:22-23, 105-06 (Behe)).
Amiably,

"I make no apology for condemning a deluded and corrupt man - Darwin - whose bizarre work has caused so much hell on earth."

And when asked to substantiate your wild claims....

Nothing. Well, not nothing; insults and whining. No evidence.

Very bad behavior indeed.

Discovery org has a list of articles in scientific publications.

But when you read them they support evolution. Which is why folks like Behe and Denton accept the fact of common descent.

It is interesting that on one hand we here accusations that ID advocates are discriminated against and fired for their beliefs, and on the other hand we have claims of hundreds of peer reviewed articles by ID advocates.

What is missing is the ID hypothesis, the clear statement of something to be expected that is different from what natural selection expects. In other words, a research program or plan supporting some hypothesis.

history proves the opposite to be true. if you understood the ideological foundation of the nation that has created more freedom and more wealth for more people - no matter what their religious belief or status in life - you would know this to be true. trust me - it is you secularists who will be killing those who disagree with you in the name of the state. once the Creator is removed from the picture, you become the arbiter of truth. that's what's really happening in these court cases. the court is the arbiter of truth. truth is what the state says it is. we're a little behind europe but people like you will get us there sooner rather than later.

get rid of state run schools. that's the real answer to the problem. let's compete like we did before public schools existed. almost every private educational institution, hospital, etc. was started by Christians. It was Christians who pushed for women to be admitted to institutions of higher learning. It was Christians who led the abolitionist movement. Since the invention of the printing press which allowed the Scripture to get into the hands of the common man, it is Christians who have led almost every positive advancement in the living conditions of humanity. now you want to force feed us a mathematically impossible explanation of the existence of human beings and because we dare question the truth of it - we are the taliban trying to drag people back into the 12th century.

don't tell me who the taliban is. the 20th century proved that the secular statists are the most dangerous people of all. the islamofascists are pikers when compared with the secular statists' ability to wreak havoc on a culture and murder their own citizens. there is one thing that they do have in common - their rejection of the God of the Bible.

Merry Christmas and may God shed His grace on America.

You mean asking for evidence is bad behavior? What a warped morality you have. Very sad.

The confusion is in your apparent belief that I pray at all.

No confusion, you claimed it yourself. I'm sure you will figure out a way to backtrack, but the truth is, you said it.

I do not. What would be the point? To what entity would I pray?

That was my point. You are confused.

No God, no right, no wrong, just actions and consequences.

And poor dumb people like your relatives, sitting around a table to eat a meal to celebrate the birth of the savior who you deny exists, and watching them pray to the thin air in several languages while you volunteer to do the same.

Ahh Christmas,, that celebration of nothing by the weak minded and scoffed at by the "enlightened" non believer, while being throughly enjoyed as a delightful spectacle of the chimp relatives.

Great stuff.

Actually it's the lack of evidence that EVOS protect.

Very sad...and must be humiliating to know how flimsy that evidence is...and destructive.

Frauds are sad...and the imposters like you who have to be mocked now and then.
