Fox News alert a few minutes ago says the Dover School Board lost their bid to have Intelligent Design introduced into high school biology classes. The federal judge ruled that their case was based on the premise that Darwin's Theory of Evolution was incompatible with religion, and that this premise is false.

That's an interesting comment, considering that the only person on FR I've ever seen defend slavery as an institution was a Creationist arguing from a Biblical perspective.

One time I saw a man standing on his head. It was very interesting.

Any of that comment have anything whatsoever to do with me or anything I have said? Or is it just some random thoughts of yours spewing out at inappropriate times?

>>>>If you're saying an ape is my ancestor, what is the ape's ancestor and so forth. Eventually you get to this thing that was formed and I would like to know how the evolutionists explain this without creation (or some other supernatural element) being involved.<<<<

Not all evolutionists are anti-creationists. They are two separate conversations.

VadeRetro: Gee, are you "conflating ID with creationism?"

Bushbacker1: No I'm not.

You identified ID as the theory with 2000 years of belief behind it. You don't just believe in "both at the same time." They are the same thing in your mind.

What a sneaky conniver! Get it?

Darwin or you?

Grow up. You're behaving very badly in public.

But let me take this discussion back to where it belongs. It is a fact that there remains a debate, locally and nationally, that the TofE is not accepted as valid by everyone.

There are a literal handful of "scientists", who make their living critiquing evolution. Other than that, there is no debate within the scientific community on the general soundness of the theory.

That other people are stirred up by religious passions to oppose it is irrelevant. We're talking about science class, not religion class.

Allowing one particular creation myth to be taught in science class at the demand of outsiders opens the door for many creation myths to be taught. That's unacceptable.

I can't agree. Federal judges have no business dictating to local school boards a curriculum. The voters hold school boards accountable, it is not the realm for the federal judiciary.

A school board is not a monarchy in its realm and during its term. It is subject to the US Constitution and must respect the rights of the citizens. It can be sued for failing to do so.

"Even Darwin himself rejected his own theory before he died."

No. He did not. That is another of the creationist lies that perpetuate themselves. I'm sorry, but you are incorrect. Please do some research on other sites than answersingenisis.com.

"How can you tell who the atheists are?
"

Some make it obvious. On the other hand, some also think that anyone who disagrees with teaching creationism in science classes is an atheist.

ID is a criticism of evolution.

Even a well-founded criticism of a theory isn't a theory in itself. ID, however, is a grab-bag of very poorly founded attempts to deny evolution by any possible means.

It has nothing to teach us which is both true and worthwhile. There is no attempt in ID to learn the unknown. Rather, it is an exercise in unlearning the known.

"And, the other has over 2000 years of belief."

And so do the Hindu creation myths. Even longer, actually. So, are they both correct? Why is yours right? Why is the Hindu creation mythology wrong?

For that matter, why is the creation story of the Chumash Indian religion wrong?

Belief is irrelevant.

"ID is more a wedge, less a theory."

BINGO.

Like the more sensationalist posters here on both sides --- who are clearly DU Trolls and Plants --- the ID issue has been picked up by the media to try to drive a wedge between: (1) Roman Catholic Christian/Anglican Republicans and Evangelical Protestant Republican and (2) the varying degrees of social conservatives.

In the evolutionary model, flying does not appear fully formed. Things appearing "Poof!" fully formed sounds more like creationism to me. You're right, such nonsense deserves to be regarded with extreme suspicion.

"For at least 8,000 years dogs have been giving
birth to dogs and apes have been giving birth to apes.
"

8,000 years? That's nothing. Try 8,000,000 years. Try 80,000,000 years. Still think dogs were giving birth to dogs back that far? You have a confused view of what evolution is about.

How come you aren't out shooting up your high school or something like the rest of your Godless brethern?

Now there's a compelling scientific argument. It needs an invincible rebuttal like, "Why don't you go back to your spells and incantations?"
