Fox News alert a few minutes ago says the Dover School Board lost their bid to have Intelligent Design introduced into high school biology classes. The federal judge ruled that their case was based on the premise that Darwin's Theory of Evolution was incompatible with religion, and that this premise is false.
The judge was part of God's Design, but left the room before He got to the Intelligent part.
You just have to keep pounding the point. First rule of debate. He who makes the rules wins.
No, they are treated as sub-humans. Many have lost their jobs. Belief in evolution is part of the liberal doctrine. Many will be very surprised when they die and find out the truth. Even Darwin himself rejected his own theory before he died.
Do you have evidence that supports your claims?
That's not what he said. He was speaking rhetorically, of course he doesn't want tyrants. But its not the courts job to step into something that is so obviously a local matter. Its something that should of been done by referendum, and should the court ask why this was done, say that this was done out of the democratic process. It should have been voted on by the people, not regulated by the state.
Don't you guys ever get tired of testifying inconsistently?
LOL. What "constitutional proscription" prevents a local school board from putting a disclaimer on a book?
"Even Darwin himself rejected his own theory before he died."
That's a creationist myth. He never recanted, and died a contented agnostic. The Lady Hope story is a lie. His own daughter, a devout Christian, said he never recanted. She would have had a reason to say he changed his mind, but she didn't. Try again.
Your just as biased towards your beliefs as we are to our own, so STFU.
My folks live in Western Carolina near Cherokee....different area in lots of ways than Raleigh. I didn't realize how wide that state was until I had to drive from Bryson to Ft Bragg. NC has it all....maybe the best state in the union for diverse climates.
Ummm...Chuckies cloak room was not very nice to me. Told them I am still waiting for my FREE credit report. The guy said "OK, thanks bye". :)
It is not as though intelligent design has no basis in reality. A good many examples can be set forth by virtue of human invention.
Now, how about my question? Got proof?
I do not consider proof to be the be-all and end-all of science. It is only one among many tools science can use to arrive at knowledge. If proof is all you expect of science, then you expect too much.
Before I am out for the nite, could you please provide links for this claim...I have heard this claim made numerous times, but I have more often, seen this claim debunked....I would like to know the truth of this...anyone have an answer? Did Darwin really reject his own theory...
Please, no idle stories here...I need links, and correct information...
I am outta here until tomorrow...but I early await any useful links...
"Another defeat for the American Taliban."
That is absurd. I really can't believe you wrote that.
"....our children may yet grow up able to compete with other scientific minds in the world."
Yes, this will reverse the decline in our government schools seen since about the time judges decided kids can't prey in schools. Learning the very little that kids do about evolution will fix it all!
"Thank The Sum of All Laws of the Universe"
You just said that to be insulting, didn't you? Too bad no one says it.
"My folks live in Western Carolina near Cherokee....different area in lots of ways than Raleigh."
Very indeed. I lived in Raleigh for 12 years (spent a year in Austin, TX); I've only been in Clayton since November. I like it better, it's more rural here. I'd love to live near the mountains someday.
I grew up on Long Island, NY. Now THERE'S one place I am glad I am no longer in. :)
Ichneumon's stunning post on transitionals.
Evidence of Evolutionary Transitions
Hope this helps. I'm way behind on this thread and don't have a whole lot of time.
You might also consult PatrickHenry's List-O-Links.
"That's what the separation of church and state is all about..."
Where is that in the constitution?
