This article shows the level of Aruba's desperation, that they have called in the Netherlands Board of Tourism and Conventions to bail them out. The central government of The Hague is getting into the act, too. All this Aruban frenzy because Beth said she would not leave Aruba without her daughter Natalee.

ORANJESTAD (AAN): In an interview with DIARIO, AHATA CEO, Mr. Jorge Pesquera indicated that this week, during the meetings that are taking place in Aruba with foreign partners who deal with the marketing aspect of our island as a touristic destination, this time a special alliance was made with the Netherlands Board of Tourism and Conventions (NBTC).

In Pesquera’s opinion, it is fortunate for AHATA was approached by NBTC, given that when NBTC found out that AHATA was in a dialogue with the purpose of establishing a new marketing entity in what relates to groups and conventions for our islands, then they got in contact with AHATA.

“Frankly, we are intrigue by the possibility that an entity which is quasi-governmental for Holland, showed interest to do new and entrepreneurial things.

We interviewed them extensively in New York. They impressed me with their creativity, their knowledge of the market, their achievements with the things they are doing in Holland and other places. We decided to enter into a contract, which is really an alliance, because we are going to help them and they are going to help us”.

The CEO of AHATA indicated that they are very satisfied given that for the first time in the history of Aruba, there is national coverage from coast to coast, from New York to Canada, Los Angeles and San Francisco in the market of groups and conventions.

Pesquera let it be known that there are eight salesmen on the street and three administrators that are supporting this effort, which is one, he said, that is extraordinary to attract a market that was not given much importance in Aruba in the past.

NBTC’s interest, he stated, has to do with the way of working, which is very entrepreneurial. They receive part of their funds, assigned by the central government of The Hague (Holland), but there is the possibility to increase these funds by an additional 60% via the alliance and sales that they make with entities such as AHATA.

He added that NBTC represents all the museums of Holland, various convention centers, among others. He continued to say that it is this entrepreneurial/commercial spirit, the creativity that they have demonstrated during the interview that gave AHATA the interest in contacting NBTC as an entity instead of adding salespeople directly.

Currently, there are three salespeople directly contracted by AHATA, Donna Delgado in Washington, Mayline Menendez in Miami and Charly Ibarra in New York.

doing this will diminish her clout wrt Natalee's case.....by doing this she is playing into the arubans hand the way I see it. Natalee now becomes just a face in the crowd, something we have heard in different ways ad nauseum from the arubans. I'm afraid she is making a mistake.....at least as far as Natalee's case goes, but the mistake is plainly born of Beths human decency and compassion.

In their campaign - which is categorized as an extraordinary coverage for Aruba - if they fail to instruct the lack of government intervention in crime, I believe, AHATA and NBTC are proponents of advertising fraud.

I agree Shebacal. The more Beth speaks, the worse it will be for Aruba. They already have SHOWN the world their unabashed corruption and their complete failure to protect ANY tourist on that Island. It's a MUST to stay away from Aruba if you want a safe vacation. Cruises are also included.

Aruban spokespersons claim the boycott is having no effect. However, look at the extreme measures Aruba is going to in order to retain the American dollar.

They may mount a blockbuster ad campaign, but hopefully Americans will not buy into "the increased quality of the product called ‘Aruba’".

If this new campaign continues to extoll the 'high safety factor of Aruba' and ignore the lack of effectual LE, and then there should be another American disappearance or death, I think there would be grounds for a wrongful death action due to advertising fraud.

What Aruba has demonstrated is that they have the biggest collection of LIARS ever assembled to form a Government and Justice Department and frankly their citizens also. They are CONSUMATE PROFESSIONAL LIARS!! NOBODY who learns the details of this case will buy their empty rhetoric. Just look at their beaches!! There pretty empty too.

As if ALE doesn't already have enough evidence to show the timeline is whacked. They've got phone/cell phone records, computer hardrives, conflicting testimony, and who knows what all, to tell them the timeline is FUBAR. Plenty enough reason to bring them all back in for a real interrogation. Including Paulus with his timeline discrepancies of what time he picked Joran up, 11pm or 4am. And what about those ATM withdrawals, Paulus? How much does it cost to have a body disposed of in the wee hours of the morning in Aruba?

Survivor there is NOTHING else that Beth can do except warn others. She has every right to share her story and perhaps she will save other girls lives in so doing.

You can't actually believe that Aruba has ANY INTENTION of solving Natalee's case??? They haven't from the beginning and they certainly don't now. All they want is for it to go away. Everybody, including this dead girl's mother is supposed to FORGET that Natalee lived and has been murdered and NOBODY in Aruba cares about that fact!! Beth has to live with NOT KNOWING where Natalee's body is and not being able to bury her and formally say goodbye EVER. I don't see it as a mistake. In my view, Beth gave Aruba every opportunity to correct the situation and charge the perpetrators. They REFUSE. Always have.

I was thinking that perhaps a NO MISSING PERSON CASE IN ARUBA HAS EVER BEEN SOLVED might be a good one too. It's the truth. Not a SINGLE missing tourist case has ever been solved. NOT ONE, NOT EVER.

Other than the father, I believe these boys confessed almost immediately. Remember there's a body, PVDS learns of it, and suddenly there is a retraction, "there's no body", then there's a confession of what happened, PVDS learns of it, and suddently there is another retraction, "there's no confession". Remember Van der Straaten to Greta? "I don't recognize that"!! Joran killed her, no Deepak raped and killed her, then NOBODY raped and killed her. What a FARCE!!
