Surinamese Deepak Kalpoe, 21, arrives to court in Oranjestad, Aruba, Friday, Aug. 26, 2005. Aruban police arrested Kalpoe and his brother Satish, 18, along with a third person according to government spokesman Ruben Trapenberg, saying he doesn't know if the arrests are connected to the disappearance of Natalee Holloway. The two brothers had been previously detained and released. (AP Photo/Pedro Famous Diaz)

Two Surinamese brothers, Satish and Deepak Kalpoe, who had been detained and released in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway were arrested again Friday based on new evidence, officials said. The brothers were detained on suspicion of involvement, with unidentified 'other people,' in premeditated murder and rape, the prosecutor's office said. Person to the right is unidentified. You know I have to stick up for Ted Williams here. He has always said that they "screwed up" the investigation from the first day. That is TRUE and I think we just learned how true. Another thing, he was always mentioning not letting PVDS off and I was always saying the same thing to myself. Don't forget that shifty eyed poor excuse for a father with the big butt running to his car.
That's kind of what I'm wondering - I still believe she was alive - longer than maybe we know.
I also still wonder about the phrasing of Paul's statement "not likely to find her" or whatever and the thought that she was shipped off the island.
I could be wrong - but I really think they'd have found her remains if they took care of it in a haphazzard manner. If Depak was the one to kill her and "burn" her then there would be remains to be found.
Thanks, makes even more sense why the simmering fury has been there....
Hi
I stayed off the threads after Natalees killers were set free....I was just too dang angry!!
I do not understand this at all. They never asked JVDS where Natalee was buried?? Did they ask Deepak?? OMG..
Are Beth et al being extra careful about what they say because they still have hope that the murdering scum will eventually be arrested and convicted? I can't think of any other reason why they don't go ballistic and scream to the world all they know.
"Why has it taken the family this long to do this?"
I think they had a lingering hope that "maybe, just maybe they'll let us have her and we can fix her" Beth actually said last night they were looking in crackhouses. I keep going back to the supposed photo and the "we can fix her" comment.
And yes, Ted has a good heart, I'd just like to pull his tongue out and reposition it. :)
You know what - re-read that part of the statement - it actually says "he buried her". The print is so small I got my glasses and it is buried not burned. I can't imagine taking the time to try to burn a body. I honestly believe that Paulus VDS was involved DIRECTLY with the disposal of the body. I even think he planned how and where and made the arrangements. Why else would he call a "meeting" getting them all together and instructing them on how to get their stories straight, alter computer hard drives, not use cell phones, and then make a statement "no body no case". Nobody would make a statement like that unless there REALLY WAS A BODY to be dealt with. The body could have been on the VDS ppty when Beth and Greta were there. He sure was sweating buckets even if he does sweat all the time. That was very unnatural!! Plus he looked as nervous as a cat.
I think Beth is being extra careful for a couple of reasons. One is what you just stated and the other is that she has been threatened many times. She received a threatening phone call BEFORE she went back to Aruba this time warning her NOT to come. I think it would be CURTAINS for Aruba if anything happened to Beth.
reposition it ROTFLBO!! I know what you mean.
This brings to mind his extremely shifty eyes when he first stepped out the door the day he was released from jail after his 3 days or so of incarceration. He had his lawyer at his side, but his eyes darted all over the place, couldn't look at anyone. He looked just like the dirty, guilty, rat-$astar* that he is.
can you imagine the Oh Shoot feeling, if she was still alive on the property when Beth and Greta were there?
I didn't read except what was posted earlier - Greta said burned, and so I assumed that the letter indicated that. (Beth didn't correct her either)
That was exactly what I noticed too. When he was standing with his Lawyer he was looking down but his eyes were darting from side to side. He couldn't get out of there fast enough!!
Well Beth was on the phone from Aruba so perhaps she didn't hear exactly. It definitely says buried tho and don't you remember hearing very EARLY on in this debacle that Joran had stated those very words in one of his statements? First Joran confessed, then that disappeared. Then Joran pointed the finger at Deepak, and then that statement went nowhere. And on and on. I believe every word that Beth says about her own statement. I wonder how many documents were altered or lost? How much really GOOD evidence was just thrown away or put away or whatever. Aruba has, as I've said before, spent ALL their energies in covering this case up. It could have been solved in the first week. I believe they had confessions and Van der straaten and crew made those "go away". Or as he told Greta: "I don't recognize that", "I don't recognize that"!! What the H does that mean? I guess it means the confessions and evidence just got lost and he couldn't find it anymore.
Bottom line, I'm so glad now that Dave, Beth, Jug and all are all on the same page now and have stood up to these cockroaches.
This really makes you wonder about travelling to these so-called tropical paradises doesn't it? Texas is looking better and better. Besides I loved it when I was there.
I lived outside of Texas once...never again!
Come on down, CO. You'd fit right in.
I'll probably do that again. Incidentally where did you move to?
I spent about six months in a hell hole called Deming, New Mexico. There is no water anywhere near there. Just desert, cactus and tumbleweeds. I missed my beach and had to come home.
Isn't New Mexico rather weird also? They have all sorts of way out of the mainstream "free thinkers" for lack of a better word there. I saw a City Confidential once on New Mexico and it appeared that "anything goes".
Well RGVTx I'm being kicked off the computer. I'll be back tomorrow tho. Sweet dreams all. CO
The United States Navy will not be sending a ship to Aruba. Count on it.
No "free thinkers' in Deming. It's a very small town even though it's the county seat of Luna County. That's because it's the only town in Luna County. The only other community there is the even smaller Village of Columbus. The people there were okay, actually met some good folks there. It was the location I couldn't deal with. Humidity levels of 0.something are the norm. There's just no place like Texas for me.
Night, Co, sleep well.
