You know what - re-read that part of the statement - it actually says "he buried her". The print is so small I got my glasses and it is buried not burned. I can't imagine taking the time to try to burn a body. I honestly believe that Paulus VDS was involved DIRECTLY with the disposal of the body. I even think he planned how and where and made the arrangements. Why else would he call a "meeting" getting them all together and instructing them on how to get their stories straight, alter computer hard drives, not use cell phones, and then make a statement "no body no case". Nobody would make a statement like that unless there REALLY WAS A BODY to be dealt with. The body could have been on the VDS ppty when Beth and Greta were there. He sure was sweating buckets even if he does sweat all the time. That was very unnatural!! Plus he looked as nervous as a cat.
This brings to mind his extremely shifty eyes when he first stepped out the door the day he was released from jail after his 3 days or so of incarceration. He had his lawyer at his side, but his eyes darted all over the place, couldn't look at anyone. He looked just like the dirty, guilty, rat-$astar* that he is.
can you imagine the Oh Shoot feeling, if she was still alive on the property when Beth and Greta were there?
I didn't read except what was posted earlier - Greta said burned, and so I assumed that the letter indicated that. (Beth didn't correct her either)
What you say makes sense to me. These three culprits are, in my mind, immature kids. It seems likely that an adult took the reins when it came to hiding a body. Paulos Van Der Sloot is an innocent bystander, IMO>
