What might you be suggesting.

That the Kalpoe bros aren't the only ones who had time
to collaborate their stories.

And most kids don't do coke, believe it or not.

I do believe it.
I don't know what they do on these trips, does anyone?

So, you don't introduce yourself?

I think what bothers me about the friends' story
isn't the thought of Natalee introducing herself,
it's the way they described it, and their implication.

Like how they described Joran as just some average tourist-looking guy.

I bet they thought he was darn hot.
And I bet they might've even been jealous.

I never introduce myself to anyone. Does that mean I "abandon good manners". Please clear up my confusion.

Greta wrote that when she visited the Kalpoe home, Shatish (sp) was sleeping, but Deepak was awake. She interviewed him.

If the brothers are following the climate over here, what good would it do to to grant interviews? Who'd believe them anyway? What's the point?..

GOLD-STAR TV MOTHER

By MICHAEL STARR

Thu Jul 7, 4:01 AM ET

BETH Holloway Twitty has become a cable-news star for all the wrong reasons: the mysterious disappearance of her 18-year-old daughter, Natalee Holloway, in Aruba.

Ever since her daughter failed to return from high-school graduation trip, Beth Twitty has been on cable news nearly every night — singlehandedly keeping the case alive and refusing to leave Aruba until she finds her daughter.

The mother has become a haunting presence over the story and the camera does not seem to tire of her.

"It may sound crass, but it's reality — it certainly helps that she's telegenic, and that grabs a lot of people's attention," says Joe Scarborough, host of MSNBC's "Scarborough Country," who has covered the story since Natalee's disappearance.

"She's fighting to find her daughter . . . and American moms and dads can relate to the fear of the loss of a son or daughter, and they can certainly relate to Beth Twitty," Scarborough says.

"She's their next-door-neighbor, someone they go to church with and go to PTA meetings with."

"She's going through a very difficult time but she's composed and articulate . . . and that comes across," says Meade Cooper, senior producer of Fox News Channel's "On The Record with Greta Van Susteren," which has devoted itself to covering the story each night.

Twitty has also gone the extra mile in getting to know the reporters covering the story in Aruba.

"I know they don't have a professional PR person working with them, and if you notice, she spaces her interviews out well," Scarborough says.

"The reporters down in Aruba say she knows their names and is being very friendly with them, which certainly helps get the message out.

"She obviously has a great relationship with the reporters. [NBC's] Martin Savidge interviewed her on our show, and she was breaking down," he says.

"She was connecting with Martin, saying, 'Martin, I want my daughter back. I haven't seen her in 30 days. I want the truth.' "

"She's obviously very distraught on a personal level, but she's very determined to get answers," says FNC's Cooper.

"And that motivates her to go out there every day."

Agreed. I have two daughters and two granddaughters. I'm always listening for clues as to how to coach them in being prudent, for their own safety.

I agree with you in that kids are going to do INCREDIBLY stupid things... as a parent of 21 and 16 year old boys.. we've had "stupid moments" .. oh for the past 10 years or so... :)

However I do think it's important to understand what Natalee was doing that week leading up to that night - as well as what was going on that night.

Her disappearance is tragic and awful - but I think that in finding the reason she disappeared her actions need to be looked at - not to see if she "was responsible" for what happened to her - but rather how her actions fit into what happened that night.

This isn't a case of a nine year old girl disappearing in the middle of the night from her own home - this is a case of a teenager on vacation in a place that is known for it's "partying"... it complicates things even further... the dynamics are so different.

All the folks involved (except for VDS father) are under the age of 21 ... so ALL of them are capable of doing incredibly stupid things..

I'm hardly an apologist for people who are wicked - but I really wonder when I see the "spinning" of the "facts" that support the case against Joran. I believe he was involved - it's the extent that I'm not so sure about. These threads have him as a psychopath - drugging girls drinks.. yet there is no PROOF of that .. it is pure speculation based on the fact that "Natalee would never have done that" - so we take the premise that this girl we have never met "would never do that" ... and turn a kid we've never met into a psychopath. I just think it's a HUGE leap... I think the truth is somewhere inbetween.

From Amigoe.com:

Translation:

Aruba and Holloway-affair just not on CNN

Since the bomb attacks in Rewarded this morning early, is the loss of Natalee Holloway on Aruba not or scarcely more on CNN been. Also other American media direct now all attention on the terrorist attacks in the British capital. This much to relief of the Arubaanse government and the special commission that had been set up the news reporting so much as possible in good clear to lead and at damage control to do. Although opposite officially no communications are done, was the target of the commission – assisted through passing media experts from the United States – ‘Aruba of the tube off to get'.

I don't think the Arubans are the only ones who are relieved that the media have a much larger issue to discuss.

Friendly exchange of ideas is the reason to even have a thread, based on facts and hopes and continuing information. Somehow wild speculation has been accepted while reasonable questioning of other possibilities is jumped on like it was the plague..

No one that is participating on this thread, knows the 'truth . We all have a voice and the right to speak.
You are not expected or required to agree with all posters, nor am I. No big deal.

Going off on people is not friendly or constructive. Get over youself and thinking you are the only one to be "right".

We all want the same thing which is a positive outcome. If Natalie is alive that is still possible. If she isn't alive we are not in control of the outcome. We are observers. Lighten up, won't you?

I repeat, live and let live.

I too truly believe that Nat is a good girl and fully agree with your assessment about good kids doing bad things. We're all human.

Your assumption is right in line with what I've said before back on Thread 1 or 2, that I think someone in Mountain Brook knows exactly what Natalee's condition was before, during and at the end of her visit to Carlos and Charley's.
I'm 41 but was young once and attended Ole Miss for 5 years of Mom and Dad subsidized partying. I was a straight A student in high school but will have to admit that once I was out from under the watchful eyes of my parents I strayed off the right path I time or two. I really think that the whole senior trip mentality of "This is the step into adulthood" takes over the mind of even the best kid.

To reiterate: I believe with all my being that there are children in Mountain Brook that know a helluva lot more than they are letting on to and are keeping their mouthes shut because of fear of social reprisals.

Urine knows the taste of jail and that 60 days is all he has to wait to be freed. When Urine was beating his chest and telling Beth, "What do you want me to do about it", Beth was looking into the face of Satan.

AH, my guess is they all thought he was hot. And that might explain why they weren't concerned when she left with him.

I think what I respond to is that some seem to be hell bent on implying Natalee was a wild child who was behaving badly. I think she was behaving the way kids do these days, accepting people who are strangers as having friendly intent.

Concerning Urine, this is a 17 year old out of control without punitive measures. Sneaking out and staying in bar/gambling halls until 3 am. on a school night. If it smells, walks, looks, and acts like a duck it probably is a duck

Well, you know when you are at a place and people are milling around, talking, etc. Like at a ball game or a public event. People smile, say things, exchange observations. Often, I will say who I am and they do the same thing. On vacation in foreign countries, we often meet people and introduce ourselves. Usually I sort of observe for a while and take a gander at how they act and if they seem like ordinary people, we introduce ourselves.

That kind of thing. Kids do it at parties, etc. They usually just use first names.

We just went to a wedding and didn't know a soul there but the bride. So by the end of the evening, we had introduced ourselves to everyone.
