Sounds as if the Royal Dutch Marines are doing a fantastic job of looking for Natalee...NOT!

I believe it was a red jeep and blue SUV that was taken and searched from the VDS house.

Laughable, isn't it?

Oh, so THAT'S why the Dutch Marines couldn't start searching (from the sky, of course!) until today. Geeze, and here I was thinking they just didn't want to help!

I don't get what you're saying. It sounds like they're talking about the MB students. "Suspects in the USA". I'd read the fbi interviewed them. Maybe the aruban authorities want the fbi to make facts out of nothing.

running out of time on internet--will make this quick. i'm in aruba now. 3 special f-16's flying over island last 2 days from netherlands looking for body.

200 protesting downtown--want holloways off island and the media to go away.

consensus from my friends here is she ran away and is alive elsewhere. they don't want to handle this--denial

Jim, that is what the locals were saying to me when I was there last week - they were hoping she just wanted to stay longer and didn't want to be found. They said some times visitors just aren't ready to leave. It made me feel sad, because they are not used to this probable kind of crime on their island. Unfortunately, alot of us live around this and know it happens way too often.

You're right, but I was thinking along the lines of island mentality. My daughter married a local, and those people stick together for no good reason. Lying is a large part of their innerds.

From post number 1050
What they did see, however, was a white Suzuki on the beach. If you remember, a white Suzuki was one of the vehicles confiscated during a search of the Van Der Sloot home. This new information might have been responsible in part for the judge`s decision to keep Van Der Sloot in jail for another 60 days for questioning in this case. We don`t know if it had any bearing on his decision to release the Kalpoe brothers.

God help us. Now we discover the Aruban police cannot tell the color of vehicles.

I'm not familiar with Jeremy Brown, DS. I did wonder, in an earlier post, if FBI was continuing its investigation in the US, which I thought at the time, would include interviewing anyone on the trip.

I understood there was a cousin, or two, or two step-relations also on the trip, but I don't recall the name Jeremy Brown. I wasn't suspicious of anyone from the trip (maybe I shouldn't have jumped to that conclusion, I don't know) but I was hoping the FBI was continuing to ferret out any info from the students and chaperones - wherever that info led.

LOL! I used to want to go, then I didn't want to ever go, now I'm back to wanting to go again!

Ya know, I am sitting here reading your post and thinking, you are just so dreadfully wrong to criticize the mother of Natalie Holloway. How is she "supposed" to act? Just what is the proper way for a mother to react to this horror of horrors? When the most logical and usually it is the logical that is also the truth, 3 punk kids murdered this poor girl and fed her to the sharks. Dutch law is in a word... SECRET. The whole investigation is SECRET. What does not make sense to the general public is said supposedly to make sense to the Aruban officials. That's like "trust me wink wink". Well I simply don't accept anything those people say because its jaded by the fact that so many obvious errors have been made early on in the investigation. Natalie's Mother and family has all my sympathy and support. She can say anything she likes. The Arubans botched this investigation up purposefully because of the a Fathers status on the Island and their secret legal proceedings do nothing to help the VICTIM, the Holloway's. Just wasting time and this precious time is LOST. If there were a way for the Holloway's to SUE the Aruban government, I sure wish they would. It's pretty obvious that they don't want the truth or justice here. All the concern is for the boyz who commented this crime, IMO. As for me and my own, Aruba NEVER will be on any travel itinerary. Corrupt government, imo with no respect for women and maybe Americans too.

Well if she just wanted to stay longer, why did the three brothers concoct their lies? Why did the father say no body no crime? It doen's make sense other than these three and or the father were involved some way in her disappearance..why blame the two black security guards and not fess up even when they were put in jail?

Are the people in Aruba as stupid as their police or are those police officers making those comments, still not realizing where the evidence points or trying to take the heat off their incompetenceor corruption?

As for the natural father refusing to answer anymore questions, I surmise he was asked how much life insurance he had on his daughter (he sells insurance)which would anger anyone, especially when three people were suspects and had contradicted themselves.

If anyone in the states had something to do with this crime, it seems they must have hired someone in Aruba to commit it(unless it was her ex boyfriend who was there) and Joran would still be #1 suspect as he was the last one with her ande made a false story about dropping her off.

One suggested the missing girl might not be dead but partying in Brazil or nearby Venezuela.

Highly doubtful that she is partying anywhere. If she is still alive, these countries might be worth search parties, along with Columbia. jmo

Creating doubt hmm that's the ticket. First the "Boyz" commented on how loose Natalie was, conflicting stories re: the last time they saw Natalie alive. The Aruban government arresting the wrong people when you had to wonder why the hell they didn't arrest those who were last seen with her and no video tape from the hotel camera's to support their statements. Now we get this insurance BS.
Maybe ask WHY the Aruban government will not ask the FBI to be involved?
My vote is deliberate incompetence of the Aruban officials = corrupt investigation. The supposed investigation STUNK from the beginning.

Also, someone on the thread yesterday wondered if stuff would start to leak out...since Beth and Jug had not released the 'devastating' news they had that would shock people (perhaps their Aruban and US lawyers had advised them not to do so).

They had been threatening to release big news for days. I would think there lawyer would have put a stop to it immediately if that were the case and not let them continue to threaten to release 'devastating' and 'shocking' information.

I believe Jeremy Brown was Natalee's boyfriend in the ninth grade.

...those people stick together for no good reason. Lying is a large part of their innerds.

What I think we're seeing in Aruba's reaction to Beth is what Erich Fromm called "nationalism as collective or group narcissism" (paraphrasing).

The people of Aruba are saying in essence, the people of Aruba are important but non-Arubans have less or no value. You can see the same thing in Muslim extremism--cutting across national lines but having the common thread of fundamental Islam. "We are important, but you are pigs and monkeys."

The narcissism thing is particularly easy to spot in Arubans (and, again, in Muslim extremists). The narcissist, being totally concerned with only "self," reacts to painful events in life by saying:

MY pain.

MY discomfort

MY sadness or fear.

And we hear that now in Aruba..."me, me, me." Nothing about poor Nat and her family. Just "me."

In the case of Aruba, I think it results from the business (tourism) they are in and Aruba's being an insular little island. They see outsiders as having much less value than locals.

I think the reason Islam is narcissistic is that examination of self leads to an examination of one's beliefs...and that is blasphemy. Similarly, Arubans are probably disinclined to examine themselves for fear of learning the truth about Aruba (the money laundering, the attitudes of bias toward outsider, the prevelence of drugs). I was at first surprised by the attitudes of Jurine's mother and the mother of the Kalpoes..."my boy(s) is/are good boy(s), he/they couldn't have done anything wrong." Strong denial. Almost blind and childlike defense of self.

Same for Arubans collective attitude toward their legal system.

All vy strange.
