A homosexual advocacy group is planning to hold a discussion on 'gay icons' in US history'--including President Abe Lincoln--at part of its national celebration at Philadelphia's Independence Hall later this spring.
Equality Forum is organizing a 'national celebration' to mark the 40th anniversary of the 'gay civil rights movement' which it says began with a small demonstration at Independence Hall years before the Stonewall riots in New York City.
The panelists include a 'recognized expert' on Eleanor Roosevelt, and the editor of CA Tripp's new book 'The Initmate Life of Abraham Lincoln' in a panel discusson of 'closeted public leaders.'
'Governor McGreavey showed mainsream Americans that homophobia has kept those who seek elected office in the closet,' said Malcom Lazin, executive director of Equality Forum.
'These public officials include Abraham Lincoln, who saved the nation, emancipated the slaves and founded the modern Republican Party.
Lazin said he has read 'The Intimate Life of Abraham Linclon'. 'As a gay man and an amateur historian, I find the evidence indisputable that the 16th President of the United States, Abe Lincoln, was a gay man.
'Anyone not blinded by homophobia will recognize that the president who preserved our republic was gay. It is time that US historical figures be emancipated from the closet.'

You know, I could really care less wether you like those of us from the South, but have the courtesy NOT to imply that because one disagrees about the WBTS, or the Reasons for Secession, etc., that we are disloyal, traitors, don't love our country, etc. I personally, am a Honorably discharged Veteran, and my family has served this country with it's blood in every war since the WBTS. I can disagree about whether the "Cause" was just or not, without disliking my country. It is for that precise reason that I DO disagree. I feel that unless our country goes back to a government of the States, we are headed for disaster.
Think about it, and watch your words. Please.
How about you having the courtesey NOT to imply that everyone from the South agrees with your "Lost Cause" mentality, or that AJC extended his comments beyond the relatively few Lincoln-haters who routinely pollute these threads with their garbage.
The only thing I imply is that you are a traitor to your own kind, (if you are from the South), and to the South that bred you. I also will state that you need to lay off those truck fumes. Causes brain damage you know. And I can't stand Abe either, so get over it.
Well, If that's the case, I disagree with BOTH of you!
Does anyone listen to the Phil Hendry show? He has a guest on all the time (I forget his name) that begins every sentence with "'As a gay man and a Journalist..."
Real Life imitating art again.

I was in the car driving along as Michael Savage had just finished and then a guy came on by the name of "Phil Hendrie" and he began interviewing a 'live guest', lol. Was I shocked!
The 'guest' was non other than "Herb Sewell". Initially I presumed this ws a live telephone hook up, and then this "Herb Sewell" begins laughing like a demented sicko. I was thinking to myself, how could this show allow a such a perverted pyscho on the air and 'live' no less, as he laughs like Norman Bates.
A lady called who was revoted by "Herb's" comments, and then "Herb" began insulting her left & right and then he hung up! At this point s, all of a sudden "Herb" calls back just as the lady was about to hang up, horribly insults her and the lady slams the phone down on "Herb". I am thinking, this is insane ..lol I exited the car thinking what a real sick show!
The next night "Vernon Dozier" called in! I will not say anything further, not to ruin it for new listeners :)
