It's obvious that the martyrdom of Terri Schiavo is a satanic ritual. It's supposed to culminate tomorrow, day Jesus Christ died.
I'm sure many of you also have understood it. Instead of continuing listing the details, I will let you do it yourselves.
Thank you.
Yours is a rational and compasionate voice.
I too, have felt frustrated and about fed up with FR over all of this.
i especially hold in contempt those posters who, as you note, make a big deal over Micheal Schiavo's kids being "bastards".
Those kids can't help what their father does, nor should they be denegrated because of their unfortunate home ssituation.
And SO many of the posters who get viscious about that are SUCH good "Christians", too! Just ask them, they will tell you. They have all the compassion of a kick in the butt.
(Congratulations, hypocrites! You guys are the major reason I won't have anything to do with an organized religion. )
Anyway, FRiend, thanks for your post.
Bump to the top
Thanks for your reply...you know, I like to have the facts, the real facts of any issue...I hate gossip, I hate lies, I hate half truths...
Do you know, when I asked if it was really true that Catholics could not be cremated because it was against their religion, I actually got flamed?...it was as if, no one was interested in the truth...finally some Catholics came on board, and informed me, that Catholics can be cremated, and pointed me towards Catholic sites which stated as such...but the naysayers were positively livid about my having the correct information, because it deflated some of their arguments...then in retreat, they said, well, it doesnt matter anyway...really?...because it did seem to matter to them, so long as no one challenged them..when the truth came to light, well, then I got my answer...
Again, thanks for your reply...
Then let me join all the others in commending your posts. You started a discussion which has apparently attracted FReepers who, whatever they think of the issue of Terri's situation, are nonetheless apalled at twhat has taken place allegedly in her name.
I also want to thank you, as I have been pretty mad lately about the crap going on here lately. You have restored a bit of MY faith that there are still sane FReepers willing to speak out against madness.
I was about to call it quits after I saw FReepers actually defending and encouraging those fools who sent their children to be arrested, using them as props in their drama play in a way that put them in danger. That was beyond the pale as far as I am concerned.
When deciding a position, in addition to all else, one must also consider the behavior of both sides. The "Terri Pitchfork Brigade", as I call them (TPB), has behaved abysmally. I support Michael Schiavo in his quest to do his wife's wishes, in no small part because of that behavior.
When one uses such tactics, and justifies them with "the end justifies the means", one risks your methods tainting the entire cause.
That certainly does limit much use of the "F" word. ;-)
Nice summary.
And they call themselves "Christians"?
As a Christian and a Republican activist I too feel the Fratricide that is going on here and in our country. People who one one hand assert that they are Ambassadors for Christ, have used the vilest terms and borne false witness against other conservatives and Christians. Demagoguing the local Bishop even became fashionable. Or grabbing a gun and wasting Michael. All in God's name! And other FReepers let 'em get away with it.
I'm not read to write my opus, but I'm no longer going to attend the March For Justice II. FR is now a different place for me....
Get the Hell out of my country. If you're not in it, stay out.
I know....I have had that done to me, over of all things, potty training, if you can believe that...what a silly subject for people to get so hyped up about, that they resort to flaming and name calling....such can be life on FR...
John Gipson has an article up on FOX where he is encouraging Jeb Bush to plan "storming the Bastille", kidnapping Terri Schiavo, and "mooning" the judicial system.
I am sure there will be people here cheering that reasoning on.
GOP is going to lose the house and senate in '06 at this rate.
There IS such a thing as the "Christian" Taliban, and it has a loud voice on FR.
And decent Christians won't support them.
I'm sure things will calm down eventually... it's difficult for some to remain calm and rational when they are so fired up about this (see thread title!).
For those of us who believe in the sanctity of life, do not believe a physically healthy although brain damaged human being should be starved to death on the say so of a husband who forgot to mention it until seven years into the accident and two years into a new romance and a new baby, the whole thing is frustratingly evil. Personally, I see a slippery slope, rather like the Netherlands - this is how it starts.
Anyhow, I am sure those calling for the impossible will calm down - I know they are feeling frustrated and powerless at this time.
I was considering leaving for good. Especially after the thread about the kids getting arrested. All I could think of was the damned Terrs, sending their kids to die for Allah. The difference was only in the degrees.
When I posted that, all I heard back was, "Oh, it's okay because this is for LLLIIIIFFFFEEEEE doncha know?"
Right. "If it saves ONE life..."
It was madness. Inexcusable madness.
BTW, I'm bound for the Sandbox later this year. Prolly operate out of Bahrain.
Just hurts your blood pressure.
Also, many times the trick is employed, to pepper an opponent with questions that seem (at least to me) to be purposefully antagonistic --- the questioner doesn't care for an answer, rather, the questioner is just "spoiling."
On another matter, one of the things that I don't do, is go around demanding that people be removed from the forum. To the contrary, I have asked that they not be removed, because I want people to become better writers, so that, when encountering liberals, we do a better job of expounding.
No offense, but in all honesty, Mr. Schiavo violated the sanctity of marriage when he started to date women and then proceeded to live with one of them.
What is the sanctity of marriage if one party can opt to date and/or live with another person while still married to the one he married?
Thanks for your reply...And I also agree with you, about some of these posters, patting themselves on the back, and declaring what fine and wonderful Christians they are, and then they immediately delve into spreading rumors and gossip and lies(isnt this bearing false witness?), call young children names(didnt Jesus love all little children, regardless of their parents actions?), and then they literally almost threaten their fellow posters(what about Love Thy Neighbor as Thyself?)...
I know that people are really emotional, but that does not excuse what has been going on here...
It's gotten a LOT louder lately. In fact, FR is almost morphing from a political discussion website into a Christian-Right gabfest.
I can't remember the last time I clicked on a thread which did NOT feature tons of pasted Scripture and people expounding on it.
The Religion forum has spilled over into the whole thing.
For some people, Christianity is a religion that has enriched their lives and made them better people. For others, it is a license and a weapon with which to beat others into submission and make themselves feel superior. I have no qualms whatsoever with the former category.
Yes.
It's about driven me out of here, too.
Just goes to show that zealotry and fanatacism isn't limited to Islam.
I've always enjoyed your posts, BTW.
