Big time fist throwing. Fans, players and more. Any thoughts ?
Inebriated Rich Obese Suburbanites hit the Palace of Auburn Hills or Joe Louis Arena, they've never picked up a basketball in their life and their out their heckling, jeering "Thugball" and sometimes, when it comes to tossing beer at players they go to far and the players are forced to defend themselves.

The fans at Conseco are civilized. It is that simple.
I get a kick out of you people saying, "players need to defend themselves"
FROM WHAT-- you have been suckeredd by the loosers at ESPN..
Artest is like 250 pounds of solid muscle.. even if a diet Coke was thrown at him -- is he in danger? Is he being threatened? Hell no..
Yes, the fans were WAY out of line- but in no way were the players fearing for their lives or SAFTY in any manner... Give me a break!!!
Don;t buy the "self-defense" argument. It makes NO SENSE!
I will --- the violence looks to me like it would have ended right away after the one player attacked the other player --- that looked like it was under control quickly --- it looks like to me that the fans were the ones that really got the action going.
Whatever. I don;t care how much money they make. Their not getting paid to let drunken fans throw crap at them. People were throwing chairs, bottles, and ice.
Personally I am not gonna get blinded because some clown wanted to thow something at me. I would have retaliated. So would a lot of people.
Don't pull on Superman's cape! I thought the fan kind of asked for it --- what was he doing throwing beer at Artest? Did the wimp think Artest should just have to take it? Did he not know anything about Artest?

Blinded by a water bottle? Well you are as dumb as Artest then! You would give up a million dollars (and you can bet that is what Artest will lose in salary-10 game suspension minimum) to get back at some guy who threw a water bottle at you?
Bad decision! Your Fired!
Then you should be thrown out of the NBA. At what point does the word "professional" kick in here? Artest obviously wasn't hurt by the plastic cup. He took off after the schmo who threw it likely because he was angry at Ben Wallace but was too scared to confront someone as big as a tree.
Believe what you want but the melee and the danger did not begin until Artest leaped into the stands.
So do Bill and Hillary --- but no one could get by with throwing a cup of beer or chairs onto one of them either.
yes, of course. my post was blanket cynicism.
Everything was under control until the stupid fan threw the first beer --- and what was his motivations for doing that?
Lebron and Dwayne Wade are the top 2
The NBA, its players & fans all deserve each other.
The NBA is to basketball as the WWF is to wrestling.
Theatrical, fixed, phoney.
Maybe you should take another look at the tape. Fans were throwing everything that wasn't nailed down. A ref gets hit with a bottle that practically takes his head off. Chairs are getting tossed. The guy that threw the drink sucker punches Artest in the back of the head. Some other clown throws a cup of ice directly in his face. Jermaine O'Neal gets punched by some fan when he comes up to break up. The fans escalated it by objects and punches. Artest didn't even punch the guy he thought did it. He just kinda grabbed him.
Did the puny guy end up killed or in the hospital? It looked to me like he just got taught a good lesson --- got slugged a good one but that was it.
i guess i hit a nerve...... history cronicals the out of control nba players... thugs as a discription is kind... and u know it..
but i didnt call you a name so i guess my agruments win....
smile
Actually, the puny guy Artest attacked was not the one who threw the cup.
