Jurors turn focus to Scott Peterson's fishing boat

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. — Jurors in Scott Peterson's capital murder trial want to see the boat the fertilizer salesman allegedly used to dump his wife's body in the San Francisco Bay, according to two sources close to the case.

The panel wrote a note to Judge Alfred Delucchi Friday requesting an inspection of the 14-foot aluminum Gamefisher Peterson took out on the bay Dec. 24, 2002, the day he reported his wife, Laci, missing.

The sources confirmed to Court TV that the boat will be brought to the courthouse and jurors will see it Monday.

The request to see the boat came as the panel completed a third day of deliberations without reaching a verdict. The six men and six women have weighed evidence for nearly 19 hours. They will spend the weekend sequestered at a hotel, but they are not permitted to discuss the case until they return to the jury room at about 8 a.m. Monday.

Story continues ........

True, but this one has NO political implications.

Actually, legislation called "Laci's Law" was passed based at least in part (since many wanted to do it before but this case catapulted the cause to the forefront) to this case.

Incidentally, of all the votes he had missed, John Kerry made it his business to get back in Washington, D.C. so he could vote against the bill.

You didn't include the part that said the victim was cute(that would be Lacy). Therefore, the other half of the population is supposedly covered by this. Myself, I think the image of a young woman ready to deliver her husband's first son, who is then allegedly murdered by that husband because he can't be bothered with a family, is the hook on which most who care hang their caring.

Please....Three people were at the docks in three days. It was cold and drizzily, Scott had searched the tides and it was Christmas eve by the time Scott got back home. People were with their families.

If Scott had been smart, he would have left the dog in the house, damaged the lock, hid the jewelry and hid the bodies NEAR THE BAY. That would leave an opening for other scenarios. He just figured if there were no bodies found, he'd be "Scott free" and that's all Scott wanted to be....free....Free to whore around, no dependents for Laci to make her heir as her parents had done for her. $100,000 insurance "invested" is a nice cut for a 5 year marriage along with a guarantee of no alimony or child support.

My children are my heirs. Hubby has to continue to work as one would expect. Happens every day!!

You might think of this case as a third trimester "late term" abortion with collateral damage. In that case, it does have political impact.

You can ignore Greta and LKL, many of us do. But we were puzzling out this case long before Greta was on Geragos' payroll (oops, did I use my outside voice?).

You are always free to follow the Arafat is dead/alive/comatose/rich/poor thread.... :-)

Relax, hang out and you'll see how amusing we can be as the day progresses. :-) Constitution Day and Tijeras_Slim can hardly start their days without stopping by and dropping off the day's mail. ;-)

With Greta pimping for Peterson, much as she did for OJ, and her pampering the dismissed juror, I wonder if she's had an impression on someone on the jury prior to their being sequestered?

This is nothing but media hype, pushed by fools like Greta.

Max, I know that you don't know this, but us bloggers did our own research. We exposed the Peterson family in their attempt to put liens on Laci Peterson's assets to pay for Scott Peterson's defense. The Rochas were grateful. Greta and the press were far behind.

We have a poster that sails the bay professionally and provided charts and expertise. Docks his vessel in the same marina that the baby was found and is familiar with the currents and shipping channels.

Berkeley Marina was visited and photographs of the boat launch, boat route and shoreline were on this site long before Greta had them.

There's much more but you get the idea.

If you listened to Justin last night, you lost an hour of your life that you will never get back. lol

No wonder Geragos didn't waste any energy on putting on a defense. He's counting on his ringers to bring it on home. :-(

Poor Sharon indeed. Well, another trial will only be stronger. All the background has been laid, they can get right to the circumstantial evidence. Maybe the Public Defender can track down Pasqual to testify in Scott's defense!

Wait untill the hotel life gets borish and they tire of pay per view and hotel food. Or a bad bout of scoots from eating hotel food.

Then we will have the verdict.
