Jurors turn focus to Scott Peterson's fishing boat

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. — Jurors in Scott Peterson's capital murder trial want to see the boat the fertilizer salesman allegedly used to dump his wife's body in the San Francisco Bay, according to two sources close to the case.

The panel wrote a note to Judge Alfred Delucchi Friday requesting an inspection of the 14-foot aluminum Gamefisher Peterson took out on the bay Dec. 24, 2002, the day he reported his wife, Laci, missing.

The sources confirmed to Court TV that the boat will be brought to the courthouse and jurors will see it Monday.

The request to see the boat came as the panel completed a third day of deliberations without reaching a verdict. The six men and six women have weighed evidence for nearly 19 hours. They will spend the weekend sequestered at a hotel, but they are not permitted to discuss the case until they return to the jury room at about 8 a.m. Monday.

Story continues ........

"ARAFAT IS DEAD FOR REAL THIS TIME!"

Finally his body got so putrified they couldn't deny it anymore.

"but I'm still wondering why she didn't knock on Laci's door."

I have always wondered that also. And another thing, I would have taken the leash OFF the dog because he could have gotten it caught on something.

"Clips of boat video being shown on Fox. Pulling the body up and over the side is made to look like it would not work.

Who made this video? Is this the one Gregaros wanted to show?

"Surely you cannot believe that there are NO places in the bay that are 2 feet deep."

I didn't say I don't believe there are NO places, it is just hard for me to imagine that when you see the bay thinking it is only 2 feet deep.

I was really shocked a couple years back to learn that Klamath Lake was not very deep either. When you drive by these places they appear to be Big and Deep.

I think he has been dead for days...JMO My Uncle who was a Mayor in the suburbs here was diagnosed with terminal cancer some years ago. His inner circle kept it top secret in anticipation of a huge power struggle between the trustees. I think the same happened here....and what a coinky-dink that the head honcho Palestinians were making their way to Paris

FOX is reporting now he is still alive ....I think you are right, they are trying to divide his "take" both in coin and power among his bunch. Sounds like someone had some bad acid when they wrote about Mohammed touching down in holy places as he was ascending to the heights (was he coming down or going up ? - they are playing both sides of the street). Hey that's a good way to claim land, um Mohammed looked over here, and he imagined over there, heck why not claim everything ?

IMO, it is IMPORTANT not to play down the 2 foot depth point, because (again, IMHO) the way SP disposed of Laci and Connor is as follows.

He took the boat into shallow water, got out, lifted Laci out, then towed her into deeper water with weights attached wherein he cut her loose.

To me, unless there is evidence to rule it out, this is an obvious explanation for the disposal method AND the reason why Snott washed his clothes as soon as he got home.

You're right....I would have taken the leash off, too. I just know that I would have knocked on the door......unless I had seen Scott drive away WITH THE DOG....just a few minutes before. Then I wouldn't be concerned about Laci. Also, it was SCOTT who usually walked the dog according to one neighbor. We're real creatures of habit. It's how people get caught.

We had a wife murdered in our area. Hubby was involved with another woman and didn't want to pay child support or alimony. He made good bucks. His wife was in their van or truck and it went over a cliff (He didn't have the emergency break on). The problem.....He did it somewhere where they had never been on their usual Sunday breakfast trip. Breaking a pattern always causes a question mark.

He might have had concrete on those clothes from working the anchors. The drizzle of the day would have re-wetted it and left some residue.

I believe that we know that he did not fish at all. It was cold and drizzily at the bay. Anyone that can't make a decision not to fish when arriving at the dock is a complete idiot. We know he didn't fish. The bait packages were not opened.

"IMO, it is IMPORTANT not to play down the 2 foot depth point,...

It was not my intention to play it down. In fact, I thought I was building it up because Black Dog made the comment that it was such a small boat out on the Bay.

I was pointing out if the Bay is only 2 ft deep at low tide it would be no big deal to take a 14ft boat out there.

FOX reporting possible juror misconduct. One juror reportedly did own research concerning the case.
Trace Gallahger reporting from Redwood City that a hearing will be convened shortly.
Possible mistrial.

If you use silver lures, be sure to take them out of the package first. :-)

Would it be better to have a mistrial than a hung jury?

More frustrating for the Petersons in their hurry to get Scott home...Less frustrating for Rochas because it's a juror being stupid rather than insulting Laci being a hold-out for not guilty.

Or at least that's the straw I'll grasp on to for the moment. :-/
