up on drudge:
WASH TIMES: U.S. security officials are investigating a recent intelligence report that a group of 25 Chechen terrorists illegally entered the United States from Mexico... Members of the group, said to be wearing backpacks, secretly traveled to northern Mexico and crossed into a mountainous part of Arizona, Gertz to report in Pgae One Splash, newsroom sources tell DRUDGE...
Finally, if a ball has been dropped, it's a bipartisan ball, we haven't had a REAL push for our security since President Reagan's Star-Wars project. Short of lining up on every border and shore with white civil defense helmets and high-powered hunting rifles, what should we ACTUALLY do about this?

The very first thing we need to do is admit that our "open" and "multicultural" society is not a safe, workable concept. Women and children are being raped in increasing numbers by other races. It was bad enough when it was men of their own race but at least the will to execute rapists hadn't been lost yet. Now all manner of excuses are made for rapists and none receive the death penalty.
This is no problem. We are a nation built on 'Diversity' and should be able to absorb them.
You'd need a lot more than a billion, unless you intend to simply allow the illegals to pilfer the sensors for resale back in Mexico...
"...The very first thing we need to do is admit that our "open" and "multicultural" society is not a safe..."
You noticed too.
The liberals love the peaceful Balkans so much that they are quickly inplementing an even greater diversity here.
The penalties can now tehnically be up to $10,000 per illegal. However, every time the Feds raid a meatpacker, construction company or retail chain, the CEO of that company goes crying to their Congressman (whether Republican or Democrat) and the Congressman makes the raids stop.
The supply of illegals will never go down unless the demand for their labor decreases.
There's another problem: juries have refused to convict, even with very solid evidence.
A ploy for the debate, huh? Yeah and the threat has been exagerrated. In case you hadn't heard, this report has been confirmed by multiple sources.
Thanks, I lived in Tempe for many years and now live just outside of Tempe. Tonights security was a big concern of mine after reading the article about the Chechen terrorists crossing.
Do you know who leaked it?
The only reason they are saying this is because they're candidate/candidates have done little or nothing to stop this epic coast to coast lawlessness.
As a matter of fact, they're candidates more then likely are aiding and abetting and pandering to this lawlessness, and have absolutely no desire to end it. Like the greedy employers that hire these criminals, as they sit in their back offices counting their profits on the backs of the tax payers. They too have no desire to reduce their profits.
No. But, since it is the Bush Administration in charge and a conservative paper I'd guess a ... conservative in office? At any rate, I doubt the Washington Times would willingly help along a leftist conspiracy. Perhaps Gertz is trying to warn us about a real danger.
A lame duck Pres, and a Republican house and Senate.
Or a victorious Kerry/UN/Soros Presidency, with victorious NY elite media, who will believe that the public is with them regardless of their admitting to being DNC political organizations, VS a Republican congress and Senate.
The dirty little secret is that Americans have pretty much accepted illegals because they like the short-term benefits- cheap maid, nanny, construction and landscaping services, as well as cheaper produce and meat.
You can find legal nannies- a friend of my mom's runs a nanny service where she goes out of her way to make sure the nannies she hires are legal. However, these nannies cost more and only really rich people hire them.
If the American people really wanted to get rid of the demand for illegal labor, they could do so.
"
This had better be an incorrect report, or one due to be quickly followed by headlines announcing the Chechens' arrest. This has been my biggest fear: If something of the sort results in an attack, especially a Beslan-style atrocity, it will cost Bush the election."
I have similar fears, and have expressed them. All it will take is a terrorist attack with the terrorists crossing our weak borders, and the name of George W. Bush will be reviled forever.
I hope they arrest them, quick.
I agree we can and should do both. But we aren't. We are always told we are fighting them over there so we don't have to fight them here. Well, they're here and they shouldn't be.
I've been pounding away on the wrong thread all day...lol
Of course Gertz will report it, he is a reporter.
The leaker said he got info from intel source in Aug or Sept, and 2nd US official is investigating, and does not know if report is true, US Border Patrol and Homeland sec can not verify claim.
Yes, I would say it was planned to leak now.
I for one don't mind being on the look out, I like warnings about terrorists.
But I don't like being warned against Bush, as if Kerry would close borders.
