up on drudge:
WASH TIMES: U.S. security officials are investigating a recent intelligence report that a group of 25 Chechen terrorists illegally entered the United States from Mexico... Members of the group, said to be wearing backpacks, secretly traveled to northern Mexico and crossed into a mountainous part of Arizona, Gertz to report in Pgae One Splash, newsroom sources tell DRUDGE...
They didnt come here to pick blueberries
There are some who say that terrorists constitute an army. I know this because I voted for him for President in 2000 and proudly plan to do it again in a few weeks. And we ARE at war - but our enemies don't use tanks any more. They use RPGs, car bombs, AK-47s, 767s, crude WMDs, anthrax in mailed letters, etc.
Building a wall to stop unarmed individuals from entering the U.S. shouldn't be such a difficult task
My emphasis in bold. How would a 10,000-plus mile long wall covering every inch of US land border have stopped 9/11? Walls can be penetrated, tunneled under, breached via bribery and misdirection, and scaled. Hence my assertion that such a wall would grant us nothing but a false sense of security for an astronomical cost, at the inevitable price of vigilance.
We look for disruption and deterrent of the enemy, not perfection, which doesn't exist.
No one can believably promise perfection except for the One who I sing songs about on Sunday mornings.
I agree. But I doubt that he has a plan.
I sure hope it's nothing!
You are an absolute idiot if you think we can seal our thousands of miles of borders. Have you taken a look at a map of the United States recently. There aren't enough troops in ANY army to secure our border. We'd have to create the biggest government program in history to even approach shutting it down. Yet, even as open as it is, we have somehow managed to survive since 9/11 without a single terrorist incident hitting this country. Go figure.
No, of course Kerry would do a worse job on this and on virtually all issues.
So, I guess we agree. I admit that Kerry would be worse and you agree that the Bush administration has been negligent, or worse, it has played politics with our national security at a time of war, although to a degree that would be exceeded by a Kerry administration.
We're doomed.
hehehehe... funny...
Found this pic here ---> http://www.geocities.com/dawoudas/
Many Khattab and OBL pics which are obviously not recent. Pics were uploaded 4 days ago. This particular shot got my attention.
The Maginot Line would work great against small bands or even massed infantry divisions and armor. Maginot expected it to provide an economy of force defense while French mobile forces pivoted on it. The mobile forces were poorly deployed and the German plan was brilliant and daring.
The border can be secured but not with three thousand border patrol agents. It will not take a Maginot Line. The Southern border is less than three thousand miles and even taken with the Canadian border where in Hades did you come up with ten thousand miles? Including all the coasts are you?
Taking the southern border as the 1st priority, it could be quite secure with less than one percent of the defense budget.
If he flips on this there is much ammo against him again. He is a lying turd.
He will say he has a "plan", but he won't tell us what it is. Just like he has plans for Iraq and the economy and dealing with North Korea and Iran.
He's got a plan for everything, but won;t say what the plan is.
Then I'll ask you the same question I asked earlier - "Name one society in history that ever completely secured its borders."
"Retired CIA official Paul Wilson (IIRC), cautioned/warned that al-Qaeda already had as many as 5,000 operatives inside the US in various cells throughout the country."
Cowboy up folks.........if this is true then not if but when.
Members of the group, said to be wearing backpacks, secretly traveled to northern Mexico and crossed into a mountainous part of Arizona...
Yeah Riiiiiiggght. Give me a break.
