Conventional wisdom among many of my peers in the "pro-Israel" community is that Rubio & Cruz are indistinguishable as it relates to support for Israel, and on Foreign Policy as a whole. Is that indeed true?...

The ACLU and its friends are close to admitting that there weren't enough examples of real "torture" for them to complain about. Having sued to get images from evidence files of military legal cases, the ACLU finally got 198 images involving soldiers accused of mistreating prisoners. There were about 2,000 photos, but most are withheld because, quite understandably, the military doesn't want to provoke the the jihadists. The ACLU doesn't care if it provokes more violence. They want to see all the photos no matter who gets hurt. But this wasn't interrogation, either by the military or the CIA. It...

World renowned humanitarian and occasional bad actor George Clooney thinks that America just isn't doing enough for Syrian Muslim migrants. Clooney and his wife Amal Clooney had met with German Chancellor Angela Merkel the same day to discuss the status of Syrian refugees, and to plead her to accept more. “We just wanted to ask her what we can do, what our involvement should be, what Hollywood’s involvement should be, and what the United States should be doing as well,†he said. “The United States needs to do more, as we know,†Clooney said. “10,000 refugees a year is not...

I listened today for a couple of hours as the last of the four who were held up at the Oregon Wildlife refuge left. It was an intense time as David Fry, after almost two hours, came out with his friends. However, behind the scenes, things are taking a very strange twist. In an exclusive interview with Jason Van Tatenhove, media director for Oathkeepers, he told Freedom Outpost that there have been reports of 68 warrants against Americans who stood alongside Cliven Bundy in Nevada in 2014 and several involved in standing between the Bureau of Land Management and the...

Cliven Bundy, the father of the man who helped start the protest at a federal wildlife refuge in Oregon, was arrested by the FBI late Wednesday night in Portland. Details of the arrest, including charges and location, were not immediately available. The FBI said those details would be released Thursday morning. Reached early Thursday at the Bundy ranch house near Bunkerville, Cliven Bundy's daughter Bailey confirmed that Cliven had been arrested but wouldn't provide details. "That's all we know at this time and we're not commenting tonight," she said. Meanwhile, federal agents closed in on the four remaining militia occupants...

Sen. Ted Cruz (R., Texas) directed President Obama to "stop protecting China" in order to more effectively respond to hostile actions from North Korea. Cruz, a presidential candidate, penned the letter to Obama Wednesday to express concern with his policy of "strategic patience" toward North Korea. Earlier, the Texas senator announced that he would vote in favor of legislation that would impose nuclear weapons-related sanctions in North Korea, which is expected to gain passage in the Senate. Cruz outlined several means of more effectively responding to aggressive actions from North Korea, which over the weekend launched a long-range rocket and...

After last week's surprise statements by two top generals that women should sign up for the draft just like men, Sen. Ted Cruz has set himself apart from his Republican rivals in the race for president by saying unequivocally that the idea is "nuts." When questioned at a Senate committee hearing last week, the Commandant of the Marine Corps. Gen. Robert Neller and Army Chief of Staff Gen. Mark Milley both said they thought women should have to register for Selective Service when they turn eighteen, just like men. During Saturday's presidential candidate debate in Manchester, N.H., everyone on stage...

(CNSNews.com) - Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), asked to respond to North Korea's test of an intercontinental ballistic missile capable of reaching the United States, called for an expanded missile defense capacity and a "hardened" electrical grid. But first, he noted that President Bill Clinton relaxed sanctions against North Korea, just as President Obama has relaxed sanctions against Iran: "So, what we are seeing with North Korea is foreshadowing of where we will be with Iran." At Saturday's Republican debate...

Amid the chaos of the 2009 holiday travel season, jihadists planned to slaughter 290 innocent travelers on a Christmas Day flight from the Netherlands to Detroit, Michigan. Twenty-three-year old Nigerian Muslim Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab intended to detonate Northwest Airlines Flight 253, but the explosives in his underwear malfunctioned and brave passengers subdued him until he could be arrested. The graphic and traumatic defeat they planned for the United States failed, that time. Following the attempted attack, President Obama threw the intelligence community under the bus for its failure to “connect the dots.†He said, “this was not a failure to...

Transcript of President Barack Obama's remarks Wednesday at the Islamic Society of Baltimore, as released by the White House:
-
"They would rather Hillary Clinton, they would rather bankrupt our kids and grandkids, they'd rather lose the Supreme Court for a generation, they'd rather see our religious liberties stripped away, our Second Amendment taken away, they would rather see Islamic terrorism continue to rise and Israel continue to be under assault than actually have a true Reagan conservative in the White House who believes what he says. That shows just how messed up Washington is, but it also shows why frustration is volcanic."...

Ammon Bundy, the rancher who led an armed occupation of a federal wildlife refuge in Oregon, abruptly reversed course Tuesday and withdrew a request to be released from custody as he awaits trial on a felony conspiracy charge, court papers showed. Bundy had initially been scheduled Tuesday to ask a federal judge in Oregon to release him on electronic GPS surveillance, his attorney Mike Arnold said. But now Bundy will resubmit that request at a later time, his attorneys said in court papers. He will stay incarcerated "to gather further evidence of his statements and actions encouraging a peaceful protest...

Commemorates International Holocaust Remembrance DayHOUSTON, Texas - Today Presidential Candidate Ted Cruz released the following statement in honor of International Holocaust Remembrance Day."Today the world remembers the greatest atrocity in human history. The utter horror of the Holocaust must never be forgotten. We mourn for the millions of people who lost their lives and the families who lost their loved ones. And we honor the heroism of the Jewish people - and all those who were persecuted - their courage will always reverberate throughout the world."Just last week, it was reported that the Israeli citizen and Holocaust survivor Yisrael Kristal...

Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America founder Paul Rieckhoff tweeted Wednesday that he would decline any contributions that came from the event, which Trump has proposed in place of his attending Fox News' debate this week. "If offered, @IAVA will decline donations from Trump's event. We need strong policies from candidates, not to be used for political stunts," he said.

For 26 days, armed occupiers have been holed up in a lonely federal wildlife refuge headquarters in rural Oregon. Dismissing the exhortations of the governor, ignoring the inconveniences of the residents, the occupiers stood their ground, saying they were protesting federal land policies. The government waited patiently for an opportunity to end the situation peacefully. A break came Tuesday night when Ammon Bundy, the group's leader, was arrested along with six others. An eighth person turned himself in. The group's spokesman, LaVoy Finicum, was killed. Here's a look at what happened -- and what happens next:
-
CNN)One person was killed as authorities arrested a group of people -- including Ammon Bundy -- involved with the armed occupation of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge, the FBI and Oregon State Police said. The deceased individual, who has not been identified, was the subject of a federal probable cause arrest, officials said.

Four days after taking the Malheur Wildlife Refuge in Harney County, Oregon, LaVoy Finicum, a 55-year-old Arizona rancher told NBC News that he'd rather die than spend his days in prison. "There are things more important than your life and freedom is one of them," he said in early January as he sat huddled in a blue tarp outside of the wildlife refuge keeping watch with his gun in his lap. "I'm prepared to defend freedom." Finicum told NBC that night that he was staying outside to ensure that the FBI could find him if they came to arrest him....

Donald Trump has defended Vladimir Putin after a British public inquiry found the Russian president "probably" sanctioned the assassination of Russian dissident Alexander Litvinenko in London. Mr Trump waded into the case saying he had seen "no evidence" of Mr Putin's involvement, adding: "They say a lot of things about me that are untrue too." The front-runner for the Republican presidential nomination has previously said he felt a "great honour" when Mr Putin praised him as an "absolute leader". .. But Mr Trump told Fox Business: "Have they found him (Mr Putin) guilty? I don't think they've found him guilty....

... And that brings us back to the key question of whether America wants to be great again, trusted by its allies, feared by its enemies, and safe at home. Because if so, voters need to ask not who channels their rage the best, but who has the courage and the competence to roll back Obama's policies. How can Rubio, who supported some of Obama's most devastating policies, or Trump who has no coherent policies, be expected to do what needs to be done? Through Ted Cruz's willingness to match his words with his deeds, and do what he believes...
