For 26 days, armed occupiers have been holed up in a lonely federal wildlife refuge headquarters in rural Oregon.
Dismissing the exhortations of the governor, ignoring the inconveniences of the residents, the occupiers stood their ground, saying they were protesting federal land policies.
The government waited patiently for an opportunity to end the situation peacefully. A break came Tuesday night when Ammon Bundy, the group's leader, was arrested along with six others. An eighth person turned himself in. The group's spokesman, LaVoy Finicum, was killed.

TL;DR - The leaders, having made clear they’d squat & defend ‘til death or government consent to demands (*cough*), all piled into a car and drove without apparent concern thru roads predictably infested by government agents he11-bent on apprehending said leaders; the one leader previously outspoken about “would rather die than spend a night in jail” had his terms agreed to. The remaining occupiers are still committed to occupying, and otherwise have no practical standing in the issue.
TL;DR for TL;DR - facepalm.

They took over a federal facility and then somehow believed the gubbamint was going to allow them free travel to gallivant around outside the compound. NOT!
The Hammonds surrendered to prison, the Bundys and several other leaders of the group now in jail and or dead/wounded...now what? What is their purpose? What is their goal?
They too will end up in jail when they decide to leave. The Feds aren't going to say, “ok boyz, go on home now, it's over”. They'll be snatched up.
They proved to be lousy tacticians that for sure.
Better that than loudmouth POS lousy patriots with no balls and an inkling to armchair quarterback the plays...
They allowed themselves (the leaders) to become lullabied by the feds into thinking they had freedom to move about outside the compound.
No matter what you think about the armchair quarterbacking....The Bundy’s made a dumb eff’n move. Now they're paying the price, leaving the objective compromised, endangered their guyz. Dumb eff’n move.
The government officials were itching to make someone pay. Probably acting on orders from bathhouse Barry himself.
With ALL the time the Feds had setting up the ambush site, and with ALL the hullabaloo lately from blacks about body cams for cops, and ALL the advance warning and planning time in Oregon, the Feds should have NO trouble turning over video of the so-called “shoot-out” that supports their narrative. If they DO NOT (or CANNOT) produce the video, that constitutes PRIMA FACIE evidence of Federal culpability in murder. Q.E.D.
