Cornel West said that under President Barack Obama there has been an increase in what he called the "new Jim Crow" and claimed his presidency has thus been a failure. Appearing in a Monday interview on Al Jazeera America's Talk to Al Jazeera with David Shuster, West said 2.5 million new prisoners have been incarcerated while Obama has been in office mostly "because of soft drugs" and the disparity in "crack cocaine versus regular cocaine" users. West referred to this phenomenon as the "new Jim Crow" because he said minority communities and the poor are disproportionately impacted.

Our own Col. Allen West appeared on Hannity last night and took on the gansta culture that appears to have heavily influenced the murder of Chris Lane in Oklahoma one week ago today. West, who hosts at our sister site Next Generation TV along with John Phillips and Michelle Fields, told substitute host David Webb. “It is a gangster culture out there. It is a culture that is being permeated throughout the media, and throughout the entertainment industry, that we need to start speaking out about. And furthermore, when you think about the fact that 72% of black babies...

(CNSNews.com) – In a blunt warning to countries critical of the Egyptian military crackdown and considering suspending aid, longstanding U.S. ally Saudi Arabia suggested that the decisions they make now will have long-term consequences for their relationships in the Arab and Muslim world. Saudi Arabia has led the way in supporting the Egyptian military’s actions, first in removing the Muslim Brotherhood administration early last month and in its subsequent steps against supporters of the ousted Islamist president, Mohammed Morsi. Its warning came as policymakers in the U.S. and Europe mull the question of continuing financial assistance to Cairo following the...

Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev criticized Sunday the West's interference in the Middle East, describing it as a "bull in a china shop." In an interview with RT, Medvedev said he agreed with the interviewer that the West often purposefully pushed whole nations to the point of no return, beyond which it was very difficult to convince the warring sides to attempt negotiations. "Our Western partners sometimes behave like a bull in a china shop — they squeeze in, crush everything and then don't know what to do next. I often find myself astonished at their analysts and how inconsistent their...

TAVIS SMILEY: Black people now find themselves at the mercy of an African-American Attorney General to do something else. He came out this week at the NAACP this week and talked about the Stand Your Ground Law What do you make of the irony of who we have to depend on now to make a decision that I for one don't believe is forthcoming.

Marco Rubio couldn't be elected to spray for bugs in the state of Florida. Allen West, please pick up the red courtesy phone.

PrimaryVille, or so severely weakened that his actions could elicit a Democratic challenger? Rubio is going down in the polls among Republicans, according to Rasmussen. He now sits at 58%, but is down 15 points from February and 10 from May. Palin has now ripped into Rubio, and he isn't gaining any friends fast that will help him stave off a primary challenge. He may be joining McConnell and Graham in in primary fight, and certainly could be dashing any chances at a presidential run. Senators Grahamnesty and McConnell are ripe for being primaried (as is Democrat Mark Pryor from...

Well, it finally happened: rapper Kanye West and professional famehound Kim Kardashian had their baby, a girl, this weekend. Unfortunately for the “happy” couple, though, the birth was marred by an ill-timed leaking of a single off Kanye West’s newest album, Yeezus. (The title is a mix of Kanye’s nickname, Ye, and Jesus. Get it?) Just before Kim gave birth to his child, the song “Blood on the Leaves” hit the internet, and considering that this song is basically an ode to abortion, the leak was ill-timed indeed. In the song, West tells the tale of a married man who...

The temptation to bully can be too great to resist. If you don't like something or the someone who's done that something, you want to squish them -- if you're bigger than they are, that is.One method often used is to get a fancy lawyer to write a cease-and-desist letter, designed to stop the recipient from breathing. The township of West Orange, N.J., decided that Jake Freivald was a nail for its hammer. He had exercised sufficient temerity to operate a Web site called WestOrange.info. It's not a fancy site. And it certainly doesn't purport to have any affiliation with the township....

Former Congressman Allen West left open the possibility of challenging U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fl, in a Republican primary come 2016 on Wednesday. "We'll see what happens down the pike," West said about taking on Rubio in 2016. "God will set my feet on the right path." Appearing a guest co-host on WMAL’s “Mornings on the Mall” in Washington, D.C., West acknowledged that defeating Rubio would be a tall order and could benefit Democrats. "That's a pretty heavy lift, because you're talking about running against a sitting senator, and then, of course, that creates that schism that the other side...

This morning on WMAL, Allen West was asked if he would be open to a primary challenge against Rubio given all the disaffected Rubio voters in the state of Florida. While hemming and hawing on the subject a bit, he didn’t rule out the possibility and agreed that an immigration reform bill as long as this one is not what the American people want. So let’s just say it’s a possibility. Listen:

WEST, TEXAS — The Federal Emergency Management Agency is refusing to provide money to help rebuild the small Texas town where a deadly fertilizer plant explosion leveled numerous homes and a school, and killed 15 people. According to a letter obtained by The Associated Press, FEMA said it reviewed the state's appeal to help West but decided that the explosion "is not of the severity and magnitude that warrants a major disaster declaration." The blast killed 10 first responders and brought national attention to the agricultural community. President Barack Obama traveled to the area to attend a memorial service for...

The butcher of the off-duty British soldier, Drummer Lee Rigby, defended his carving up of a living human being by claiming that he was engaging in "an eye for an eye" because the British army is killing Muslims in Afghanistan. Normally there is no reason to respond to the justifications offered by terrorists and other murderers of the innocent. But in this case it is important to do so because much of the Muslim world finds this argument persuasive and because much of the world's Left offers it as explanation. This is true even though a large majority of Muslims...

Raymond Ibrahim’s fundamental new book Crucified Again: Exposing Islam’s New War on Christians (Amazon USA), (Amazon UK ), has been widely reported, covered and praised and does not require an introduction, but it prompts a reflection. The problem of Christian discrimination and persecution by Muslims is in fact two problems. Like unpunished crimes’ victims who suffer twice, for the crime and for the injustice of the criminal’s going scot-free, while the atrocities committed against Christians are unbearable enough on their own, the total indifference of the rest of the world adds to the pain. Floods, earthquakes, natural calamities and...
