Donald Trump moved closer to clinching the Republican presidential nomination Tuesday by winning the Washington primary. With 68% of the vote in, Trump had 76% support, with the rest going to former rivals who have since departed the GOP contest.

Hillary Clinton won the Democratic primary in Washington state Tuesday, though she technically got no closer to becoming the party’s 2016 presidential nominee. With 74 percent of the vote counted, the former first lady had 54 percent of the vote, to rival Sen. Bernard Sanders’ 46 percent. Sill, Mrs. Clinton remains on track to reach the needed 2,383 delegates, having 2,305 to Mr. Sanders’ 1,539 with hundreds at stake in California and four other states wrap up the 2016 presidential primaries on June 7.

Today at 11:00 PM EDT, polls in the last primary held in May - Washington State - will close. Primaries in both Republican and Democratic contests.

Authorities cleared the railroad tracks of protesters and arrested 52 climate activists Sunday morning in Washington state, after a two-day shutdown. About 150 people spent the night in tents and sleeping bags on the tracks near two refineries in northwest Washington, according to BNSF Railway spokesman Gus Melonas. They were asked to leave at about 5 a.m. and most gathered their belongings and left the area near Anacortes, Melonas said. "It was peaceful," he said. It looks as though California will be considering a measure this November to legalize the recreational use of marijuana by adults over the age of 21. If the ballot measure actually makes the ballot, both California and Maine may soon be joining Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Alaska, and the District of Columbia as states where it's completely legal to toke up.
