ESPN Panel Incensed That Native Americans Too Dumb to Be Offended by Redskins

The Washington Post released a poll on Thursday, which showed that 90% of Native Americans do not take offense to the word, Redskins. The sports media responded to this poll by apologizing for decades of fear-mongering, race-baiting, and trying to make a national crisis out of something that is not even a crisis in the Indian community.

Just kidding. They freaked out.

On ESPN’s Around the Horn, host Tony Reali asked his panel whether or not the fact that the supposedly offended Native Americans, being not so offended, changed their views on the issue?

Spoiler alert: it didn’t:

The Sioux Nations living in North Dakota actually WANTED the university to keep the nickname Fighting Sioux.

Did not sway the Liberals.

As a kid and I am way passed kid age, I read everything I could about Indians. I respected them, their strength, their fighting ability, their history. I learned about America from their history from the other side. I think stupid elites should be demanding more Indian names not less. Supporting the Redskins brings races closer together, liberal elites divide people. STFU.

I thought the important thing on ESPN was the “S”, as in “Sports.” Apparently, I was wrong, and it has become the “P”, as in “Politics.”

I don’t want my sports served with a helping of groupthink.

If every lake, stream, highway, state, county, city, town, village, placename, epithet and sports team were stripped of any native american reference, native american history would be a mytholoigcal thing. The history of America would be stripped of its founding.Native American words keep their heritage alive. The libs want to wipe the history of native americans from the face of the earth. That is the unintended consequence of progressive stupidity in the face of facts they deny.

PC is an unwanted thing to the Native American population—its feel good words rather than things that could even help shoeless Indian children on the reservations. Time to help the Native People in real ways, not symbolic. Death to PC!

What gall for a bunch of non-Native Americans to call out Native Americans for not agreeing with their virtue signalling. This reminds me of a Leftie “sports” write David Zirin who wrote a piece claiming the Seminole Nation in Florida is not “authentic” because they support Florida State using the Seminole name and regalia.

Brought to you by the same people who for years said that anybody who thought (concerning NHL hockey) making players wear helmets (and later visors) would make the game more dangerous due to players’ increased sense of invulnerability and lead to more careless and deliberate liberties with stick and boarding related offences was empty headed and just plain stupid (or “non-progressive” as per one writer at the Toronto Globe and Mail).

And gee, nowadays the majority of players participating in the concussion lawsuits filed against the NHL were required to wear headgear (as per the 1979 law). This is driving the PC clowns covering the game bonkers, but they are still demanding their agenda for the game to be forced through (stricter standards on helmets and full shields and banning fighting).

Many Indian named sports teams have native American fans because of their names.

Kornheiser & Wilbon took a step back from their condemnation on PTI after this show. They are both Post veterans so maybe that influenced them but they both seemed to be saying Whooaaa.

How did a channel aimed primarily at men who enjoy sports become a vehicle for the political views of wimpy PC whiners?
