Today at 11:00 PM EDT, polls in the last primary held in May - Washington State - will close.
Primaries in both Republican and Democratic contests.
I am expecting a solid Trump victory tonight.
What if Trump gets over 70% of the votes, he will still net one delegate, and Lyin’ Ted get 40?

Go Bernie!
“What if Trump gets over 70% of the votes, he will still net one delegate, and Lyin Ted get 40?”
No. The personal preferences of the “delegates” don’t count. The national convention chair counts the first ballot bound delegate votes of a state based on the primary election allocation, not by the delegate’s personal preference. Bound delegates don’t even need to attend to have their votes counted on the first ballot.
I am not, but I hope you’re right.
I thought only the Rs had a WA primary today?
I will drop my ballot off after work.
Correct. The Dems had a caucus.
Thanks. That was my memory and Bernie won, IIRC.
can someone explain to me, if I am right or wrong that Washington already picked delegate 40 to Cruz 1 to Trump..... if so why are they even voting?
Meaningless Vote
I voted Trump and mailed the ballot in a week ago.
More Cruz shenanigans. The only delegate allocation that matters will hinge on tonight’s results from the voters.
Trump will get those delegates on the first vote at the convention because he will win the state. They can vote for their hero, Ted Cruz, on the second ballot but there wont be a second ballot.
Thank you for the clarification. Can someone, anyone, explain to me why Cruz continues to burn money and alienate voters with his behind-the-scenes shenanigans? To my untrained eye, the only point of this fruitless endeavor is to steal the nomination from Trump. Am I missing something?

They are voting to see who will get the delegates vote on the first round. It matters not on whom they will vote for on the second ballot, which there will not be one. So who cares if they are for Cruz or anyone else? It may matter for the platform and rules committees, but not for who is going to be the nominee, i.e., Trump.
