Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO), the far-left presidential candidate in Mexico and former mayor of Mexico City, has called for mass migration to the U.S., saying it is a "human right" for Mexican citizens to enter the United States. Just what we need. Another "human right" invented by the left. The Daily Caller: "And soon, very soon – after the victory of our movement – we will defend all the migrants in the American continent and all the migrants in the world," Obrador said, adding that immigrants "must leave their towns and find a life in the United States." Every election has winners and losers, and Mexico's is no exception. While the press is making much of Mexico's centrist PRI and center-right PAN parties being the big losers in last night's election of socialist Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador in Mexico, the real loser is actually up north, in the U.S. Democratic Party. Sounds strange, until you look at the details. The retirement of moderate Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy provides conservatives with a potential, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to appoint a constitutional jurist to the court and cement a 5-4 conservative majority, but moderate Republicans are already throwing cold water on conservative hopes. Yesterday, Sen. John Cornyn attempted to manage Republicans’ expectations on the upcoming Supreme Court nomination, saying he wants a less controversial pick for what could potentially be the most impactful Supreme Court appointment in American history. According to a report by POLITICO, Cornyn “cautioned Trump against selecting any nominee with a publicly stated position on overturning court precedents such...

On New Year’s Eve, Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Don Willett channeled Rick Astley by tweeting “People of Earth—In 2018, @JusticeWillett will never: give you up, let you down, run around, desert you, make you cry, say goodbye, tell a lie, hurt you.” Before that, Willett, at the time a justice on the Supreme Court of Texas, tweeted out his son confusing “Eminem” and “eminent,” a picture of three puppies and a picture of cornbread shaped like his home state. The letters section of the New York Times is a fascinating insight into the state of liberalism, just as Kremlinologists used to study closely who stood where during military parades to figure out the state of affairs in the Soviet Union. ....snip What is most interesting about the letters to the Times is that many liberals fear, correctly, that this will drive voters into the arms of Republicans, and Trump, in 2018 and 2020. John California I am a lifelong Democrat. Never voted for a Republican in my life. Though I despise Trump, as dimwitted and mendacious as he largely...

Despite nine candidates on the ballot, Republican Michael Cloud drew enough support to win Saturday's special election to fill former U.S. Rep. Blake Farenthold's seat, sparing the GOP a runoff in the 27th District. With all percent of precincts reporting, Cloud was leading Democrat Eric Holguin 55 percent to 32 percent, according to unofficial returns. Cloud, a former chairman of the Victoria County GOP, needed to finish above 50 percent to avert a runoff later this summer.

Mark Cuban made a mistake Monday afternoon. A TMZ camera found him outside a restaurant in California, and the Mavs owner actually stopped and talked to the paparazzo. Quickly, Cuban was talking about the Red Hen restaurant in Virginia and its decision to deny service to White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders. Although he likely didn't know it at the time, Cuban was about to stir up Trump Twitter, a group that's never met a stupid fight it didn't like. Here's what Cuban said with regard to the restaurant. “It’s a good question. You can make an argument on...
