The Biggest Losers in Mexico's election? The Democrats
American Thinker ^ | 7/2/2018 | Monica Showalter

Every election has winners and losers, and Mexico's is no exception. While the press is making much of Mexico's centrist PRI and center-right PAN parties being the big losers in last night's election of socialist Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador in Mexico, the real loser is actually up north, in the U.S. Democratic Party. Sounds strange, until you look at the details.

Interesting theories by the author. She believes "conservative" Mexican presidents benefit when poor people illegally immigrate to US, while the new Socialist president will want to keep the people at home. To placate US democrats, he will allow central americans to pass through Mexico to the US.

Communists are supposed to build walls to keep their people in.

And how does Mexico benefit from "placating US Democrats"?

The minimum wage in Mexico is about $5....per day!

The illegals here are NEVER going back! What a stupid article.

I don’t see any mass repatriation of Mexicans in the US who will flock back to Mexico to take advantage of the socialist/communist state. Life in the US is far superior to the corrupt life in Mexico and the rampant, violent drug cartels. If anything, more Mexicans will come to the US to take advantage of its booming economy. Socialism kills economies.

Her analysis assumes that by MX adopting more socialist policies, natives will be attracted back home.

The problem is there is no upper class tax base to fund such programs.

The drug cartels and corrupt politicians, police, and military don’t exactly pay taxes on their illegal income.

It’s always easier to deal with a wolf than a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

To keep his base behind him , AMLO will spew out anti-Yankee venom on a regular basis,. just like Chavez in VZ did. as his policies “progress”, the comparison with Chavez will begin to stick.

US ex-pats are going to need to be very careful. US tourism in Mexico will tank. The streams of migrants from central America and Mexico coming to the border will be viewed as an invading army when this guy opens his mouth.

My thought is not that this guy will want to keep people home. He is probably being backed by the globalists (Soros, et al) that want to turn Mexico into a full throated narco-terrorist state that supports money laundering banks, narcotics and human trafficking. A lot more money in that in the short term than establishing robust legal trade with the US.

The US globalist media will support him when he creates migration crises on the border. But, I don’t think that the American people will fall for this; the media has no credibility and the public doesn’t want more illegals on welfare/prison, drugs and human trafficking.

CNN can show keep showing crying babies and screaming liberals, but it won’t work.

The biggest blow to the Democrats will be when they jump into bed with this would-be tyrant.

He’ll try to make the POTUS his boogie man when his policies fail spectacularly and the libs will gleefully back his play.

When Socialist/Marxist/Communist assume control, two things happen:

1. Rich people with money in hand flee to other countries.

2. Hard working people with brains flee to other countries.

The end result for a Socialist/Marxist/Communist country is NO MONEY and NO BRAINS.

We are witnessing the final collapse of Mexico.

I agree.

I would not want to be retiree who thought it would be cool to live cheaply in Mexico.

I disagree with her premise. The benefits in America are gold plated compared to what they’ll get in Mexico and Spanish is the native tongue in the areas where they live.

"Communists are supposed to build walls to keep their people in."

It had better be a good one. After the inevitable economic collapse, it will be tested to the max, everyone will want out.

I’m wondering if the new Prez’s plan is to legalize the cartels if they’ll agree to pay some taxes in return.

I think the author missed the biggest lost to the Democrats.

The rhetoric coming from the new President of Mexico is undermining the support the Democrats have for an open border. It does however strengthen President Trumps view that the border needs to be secured.

With a hostile government in Mexico, one that has openly called for an “invasion” of the United States, it has given President Trump the cover he needs to actually close the border and back it up with our military.

The Mexican government is backing into a real war with the United States, a war President Trump is willing to fight if it means an end to illegals crossing our borders.

I’m also wondering how the privatization of Mexican oil will be affected. We might want to speed up our development of ANWR.
