The overnight seizure of a luxury hotel in Burkina Faso's capital by al-Qaida-linked extremists ended Saturday when Burkina Faso and French security forces killed four jihadist attackers and freed more than 126 people, the West African nation's president said. At least 23 other people from up to 18 different countries were killed in the attack at the Splendid Hotel and nearby Cappuccino Cafe, establishments popular with westerners in Ouagadougou, the capital, he said. Three attackers were killed at the hotel and a fourth was killed when security forces cleared out a second hotel nearby.

In President Obama's quest to shut down Guantanamo Bay, his administration is continuing apace in releasing detainees. We're only 13 days into the new year and four have already been released, including 40-year-old Muhammad al Rahman al-Shumrani. Al-Shumrani's transfer back to his home country of Saudi Arabia is particularly troublesome because he's already made it clear that killing Americans will be a top priority upon his release. According to his leaked confidential file, he reportedly told guards on October 14, 2007, the following: On 14 October 2007, detainee stated, "When I get out of here, I will go to...

The National Rifle Association, the country's most influential gun-rights supporter, is challenging President Obama's new plan to use his presidential power to tighten firearms laws, calling it a "political stunt" that fails to increase public safety. President Obama said this weekend that he'll meet Monday with Attorney General Loretta Lynch to discuss his "options†toward curbing gun violence, after ordering his White House team several months ago to identify "new actions" that he can take. The president also said that he's taking action because Congress has failed to act. He is expected to use so-called executive orders to tighten federal...

Drug Cartels Are Hacking US Border Patrol Drones Border patrol drones are vulnerable to GPS spoofing attacks The US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agency are reporting on incidents where drug traffickers have hacked unmanned air vehicles (UAVs, drones) in order to illegally and secretly cross the US-Mexican border. UAVs have become a common presence in the US military, but they have also spread to other US law enforcement agencies like local police and border patrol. Unlike their military counterparts, which cost millions of dollars, the drones used by other law enforcement...

Following an intensive 18-month governmental study, the United Kingdom issued a startling indictment of the Muslim Brotherhood (MB). It described the organization as fiercely anti-democratic, openly supportive of terrorism, dedicated to establishing an Islamist government, and opposed to the rule of law, individual liberty, and equality. We use the word "startling" not because this is news but because, in such a politically correct world, it took guts for a world leader to acknowledge the obvious about a movement that purports to represent more than a billion people. If anyone at all -- in particular our own president, former secretary of...

President Barack Obama’s 2012 amnesty for “Dreamersâ€â€“illegal aliens who entered the United States as children–likely created the conditions under which one of the San Bernardino terrorists could enter the country. Obama announced his unilateral policy, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), the “Dream Act by fiat,†in June 2012 after immigration reform activists warned that he could risk losing support from Latino voters in his re-election campaign. Obama infamously broke his promise to pass amnesty in his first term, and risked being outflanked by Republican proposals authored by Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) 79% to help “Dreamers†stay in the country....

In the immediate aftermath of the San Bernardino terrorist attack, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) sought to support and assist the families of the terrorist Syed Farook – before the FBI had even uttered the word "terrorism". As my colleague Joel Pollak writes at Breitbart California, the organisation, which claims it is tasked with improving relations between America and its Muslim communities took the pre-emptive step of representing Mr. Farook's family, in what Pollak describes as a terrorist family's "death benefit". CAIR's assistance and public representation of Syed Farook's family, in my opinion, closely resembles the Palestinian Authority's (PA)...

The evil, scheming, murderous jihadist couple who slaughtered 14 people in San Bernardino and injured 21 more (2 critically) were buried on Tuesday. Apparently it was a bit of a challenge finding an Islamic cemetery willing to take accept their remains, and not necessarily because they were the remains of savages. Per a Reuters report, the Islamic cemetery in San Bernardino was concerned Farook's and Malik's graves might be desecrated. There were also concerns there might be a backlash. According to an unnamed source, there were "other reasons" as well, but they remain a mystery. How about the obvious, like...

(CNN) Federal prosecutors are expected to file charges against a friend and former neighbor of San Bernardino attacker Syed Rizwan Farook, law enforcement officials told CNN Thursday. The charges against Enrique Marquez are expected to partly be based on allegations that Marquez had bought two rifles that Farook and Farook's wife used in the December 2 mass shooting and terror attack that left 14 people dead in the Southern California city.

Tashfeen Malik, who with her husband carried out the massacre in San Bernardino, Calif., passed three background checks by American immigration officials as she moved to the United States from Pakistan. None uncovered what Ms. Malik had made little effort to hide — that she talked openly on social media about her views on violent jihad. She said she supported it. And she said she wanted to be a part of it. American law enforcement officials said they recently discovered those old — and previously unreported — postings as they pieced together the lives of Ms. Malik and her husband,...

A former FBI counter-terrorism special agent named John Guandolo has gone public with a BOMBSHELL and has issued a terrifying warning for the American people about Islamic centers and mosques around the country exposing that most are part of a broad “jihadi network.†In an interview with Breitbart, Guandolo claimed that almost every jihad attack inside America has has the support of local Islamic centers and mosques. Guandolo says that the cast majority of the more than 2,200 mosques and Islamic centers here in America “are part of this hostile network- they’re HOSTILE!†He went on to say that over...

Once again our national security agencies failed at detecting dangerous terrorists. ... Who knew that collecting massive amounts of irrelevant data on tens of millions of innocent Americans unrelated to terrorism does not prevent terrorist attacks? Actually, making the data haystack bigger makes it harder to find the needle. Like the country music song “Looking For Love in All the Wrong Places,†our country is determined to look for terrorists in all the wrong places. Our government responded by patting down grandmothers and young children at airport security screening, after the trauma of the terrorist attacks on September 11, while...

On Thursday, Connecticut Gov. Dannel Malloy announced plans to issue an executive order barring anyone listed on federal terrorist watch lists from purchasing a gun in the state. But while the idea of “no fly, no gun†has found growing support following the mass shooting in San Bernardino last week, including that of President Obama, experts say such a policy may be unconstitutional. The problem lies with the terrorist watch lists themselves, which are both secret and routinely updated without the typical due process given to those who are accused of breaking the law, such as court proceedings. Without a...
