LSU athletic director Joe Alleva drew a line in the sand Monday with regard to the LSU-Florida game that was postponed due to Hurricane Matthew. The teams both play out-of-conference games on Nov. 19 and that date had been proposed for a possible makeup in Gainesville, but Alleva made clear on Monday that LSU intends to play in Tiger Stadium on that day. “We are going to have a home game on Nov. 19,” Alleva said.

The National Football League has sent a memo to team owners seeking to ease concerns about the ratings decline that has hit football this fall. Through the first four weeks of the season, NFL viewership has declined 11%, and among the crucial adults 18-49 demographic that advertisers covet, ratings are down 12%.

The Chargers stadium ballot measure is falling far short of the support needed for approval on Nov. 8 and backing for the initiative is shrinking instead of growing, according to a Union-Tribune/10News poll released Friday. The survey shows 41 percent of likely voters say they are certain to vote against Measure C and 36 percent say they are certain to vote for it. As Hurricane Matthew pushes north with the Central Florida area square in its sights, the Florida Gators won't be taking the football field this weekend as scheduled. The Southeastern Conference announced that the game Saturday between UF and the LSU Tigers will be postponed.
