The FBI is investigating the exchange of gunfire between U.S. Border Patrol agents and suspected drug smugglers across the Rio Grande, officials confirmed Monday. The shootout occurred around 7 a.m. Monday just south of the small western Hidalgo County community of Abram. VAN BUREN - Two brothers are being held after a shootout with a Crawford County man who lawmen said caught them siphoning gas from his vehicle. Chadrick Holsted, 20, turned himself in about 5 p.m. Tuesday after authorities negotiated his surrender with his father, Chief Deputy Ron Brown said. His brother, Mark Holsted, was shot in the shoulder and leg late Sunday and was taken to St. Edward Mercy Medical Center in Fort Smith. SAHIWAL: At least 13 bandits were killed in a gunfight with villagers in a village near Sahiwal early on Sunday morning, police and witnesses said. More than 25 bandits robbed a house in Chak 135/9-L and were about to break into another one when villagers opened fire on them. MEXICO CITY - A shootout between Mexican authorities and suspected criminals just across the border from Texas left three people dead and eight injured on Monday, officials said. ODESSA, Texas - Two police officers responding to a domestic disturbance were killed and a third was critically wounded by a gunman who led Texas authorities on an hours-long standoff, authorities said. The suspected gunman in the shooting Saturday night, 58-year-old Larry White, will likely face two counts of capital murder and attempted murder of an officer, said Tela Mange, a Department of Public Safety spokeswoman.

BASTROP (TV8) - Morehouse Parish Sheriff Danny McGrew confirms two Bastrop police officers were shot and killed Friday afternoon in downtown Bastrop. McGrew says one suspect was also shot and killed. Mitchell Moua, 25, pulled a gun on police who tried to arrest him on several warrants, and fled, police spokesman Tom Walsh said. Moua exchanged shots with officers through the rear window of the SUV with Wisconsin license plates before the chase ended about 11:30 a.m. when the SUV crashed into several cars at Seventh and Arcade streets, on the city's east side, Walsh said. (CBS) NEW YORK A teenager was shot and killed in front of a Bronx Burger King and the manager of the fast-food restaurant is being charged with the murder. Police say 16-year-old Shaka Walcott was killed during a shootout with 45-year-old Ronald Johannes, who manages the Baychester Burger King. It's unclear how the gun battle broke out, but witnesses say Walcott was seen spitting in Johannes' face. A Hopkins man shot one of two intruders at his home on Dry Branch Way early Friday in an exchange of gunfire that also left him wounded, according to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department.
