Mitchell Moua, 25, pulled a gun on police who tried to arrest him on several warrants, and fled, police spokesman Tom Walsh said. Moua exchanged shots with officers through the rear window of the SUV with Wisconsin license plates before the chase ended about 11:30 a.m. when the SUV crashed into several cars at Seventh and Arcade streets, on the city's east side, Walsh said. The Moua was taken to Regions Hospital. Walsh said Moua was originally sought on several charges, including aggravated assault, false imprisonment and a federal warrant for a weapons violation.

(CBS) NEW YORK A teenager was shot and killed in front of a Bronx Burger King and the manager of the fast-food restaurant is being charged with the murder. Police say 16-year-old Shaka Walcott was killed during a shootout with 45-year-old Ronald Johannes, who manages the Baychester Burger King. It's unclear how the gun battle broke out, but witnesses say Walcott was seen spitting in Johannes' face. The two had apparently been engaged in a dispute that had culminated for well over a week's time.

A Hopkins man shot one of two intruders at his home on Dry Branch Way early Friday in an exchange of gunfire that also left him wounded, according to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department. Both intruders face charges, but homeowner Alonzo Williams, 29, won’t be charged, Sheriff’s Department spokesman Lt. AN attempt to arrest federal prison guards in a sex-for-contraband probe erupted in gunfire that killed a US Justice Department agent and one of the guards, the FBI said today. Agents were trying to arrest six guards at the Federal Detention Centre in Tallahassee on charges including giving prisoners alcohol and other contraband in exchange for sex and money, an investigator said. NEW ORLEANS - Five people ranging in age from 16 to 19 were killed in a street shooting early Saturday, the most violent crime reported in this slowly repopulating city since Hurricane Katrina hit last August.
