Aug 03, 2006 - Workers at a Porterville jewelry store were trapped in a dangerous situation Wednesday, when an armed man walked into the store with a gun demanding money and jewelry.

The incident happened around 6:30 p.m. at Crescent Jewelers in Central Porterville, and police were quick on the scene.

When the suspect saw police cars he began firing shots at the officers, and attempted to escape through the back door, but was greeted by more officers. As he fired shots at them, the workers inside attempted to make a getaway,in the process one worker was shot in the shoulder though his wounds are not considered life threatening.

After authorities were unable to make contact with the suspect they went into the store and found him behind the counter suffering from self-inflicted gun shot wounds to the head.

He later died at Sierra View District Hospital. Police say they are certain the suspect shot himself because officers never fired any rounds.

They can retrieve the round from the dolt's head and fashion it into a jewelry piece. They could shoot him again and then make ear rings.

MR. WHITE: You really think we were set up?
MR. PINK: You even doubt it man? I don't think we got set up, I know we got set up! I mean really, seriously, where did all those cops come from, huh? One minute they're not there, the next minute they're there.

I didn't hear any sirens. The alarm went off, okay. Okay, when an alarm goes off, you got an average of four minutes response time. Unless a patrol car is cruising that street, at that particular moment, you got four minutes before they can realistically respond. In one minute there were seventeen blue boys out there. All loaded for bear, all knowing exactly what the f### they were doing, and they were all just there!

Remember that second wave that showed up in the cars? Those were the ones responding to the alarm. but those other motherf###ers were already there, they were waiting for us. Haven't you fucking thought about this?

I would hope that he WAS set up. But Porterville isn't a large town, and a silent alarm can be responded to pretty quickly.

Try more like millions; if you figure the cost of the trial, appeals, jail/prison stay, trial for another crime committed after release, appeals, jail/prison stay, trial for another crime, and so on.
