  Prayer Request for my Mom From part deux | 08/05/2008 Last July 2007  the prayer warriors prayed for my Dad who sliced off a thumb. Well he is fine now, short half a thumb. Now my Mom is in need of prayers.# # #My Mom has been undergoing tests to determine blockage of the arteries. They found main artery blockage in the pelvic areas and they are looking next at the kidney this Friday, August 8 and more tests next week. My cousin Kevin and his wife Lane are experiencing simultaneous major medical problems. Lane has been caring for Kevin since one of his kidneys failed this spring, his condition has worsened and he has been diagnosed with a form of leukemia (Myelodysplasia with refractory anemia with excess blast) and now Lane has been diagnosed with colon cancer. Last month, my dad was diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma (kidney cancer). The tumor was about the size of a golf ball. Last week, he found out that it was the papillary type (10-15% of kidney cancer) and that it had spread a bit into his lungs and a rib. They called them "flakes" so I guess it's not as bad as it could be. But still ... this is not what we were hoping for. I would be grateful for your prayers as I prepare to enter the hospital for the completion of my thyroidectomy this Tuesday. The operation is at 7:30 a.m. and I expect to be in the hospital until Wednesday afternoon. After that, I will have stitches in my throat until they are removed the following Tuesday morning. I ask all my FR brothers and sisters in Christ to pray for my sister and our family in this great time of need. She has so many complicating factors from diabetes. She had developed sepsis from staph aureus and been in hospital for last 4 weeks. She had open heart surgery Monday May 12th to replace the mitral heart valve and have 2 bypasses. By God's grace she survived the open heart surgery and was recovering better than anticipated for 4 days, raising our hopes, although her creatin count was increasing each day indicating the kidneys were not functioning...

Well, everyone out there, you have been after me to get this prayer thread started. So, here you go! I will be going in for total hip replacement surgery on Monday, April 14th. My wife Mrs. Don-o is having gastric bypass surgery on Thursday, May 8. If all goes well, she should be discharged on Saturday. She is very confident in the surgeon, who has done over 1800 of these operations (four hour procedure). She is doing all the research possible on her own and expects do fabulously. The hope is for almost instant relief from diabetes and three or four related co-morbidities. The major post-op risk, statistically, is pulmonary embolism. Lily has suffered numerous injuries -- broken ankle, broken ribs, collapsed lung, all of which the doctors have stabilized. She will not require surgery for those. My dear friend's 20 y/o son was hit by a car on Monday and is in critical condition. Though he survived the first 48 hours, and he is a strong young man, he suffered extensive brain trauma and the prognosis is not good. My friend, the boy's Dad, is a mighty Rock of a man, a NYPD survivor of 9/11 and recently retired, but needs prayer for strength to help him and his boy through this. Prayers for the family, please, for strength, and to accept the Lord's answer, whatever that may be.

I have just received word that my niece is in the hospital and in very, very, very bad health. Her liver has failed and her kidneys are now failing. She is on the transplant list, but without a new liver she won’t be leaving the hospital. Please join with me in lifting her up to God for His healing and blessing, asking for a new liver for her. Please keep my wife and soon-to-be newborn in your prayers. She is only 28 weeks along, but they are going to have to deliver him tomorrow morning due to complications. Today, Pandy needs OUR prayers. Her doctor called her an hour ago (on SUNDAY), and told her that the swab he took on her 'spider bite' last Thursday was positive for MRSA. She had underwent radiation therapy and they thought it was gone, but it came back a couple months later and caused much pain and suffering before it took her life. She was a devoted wife, mother and dear friend. My brother, Don Robinson, is heartbroken and feeling lost. They had been sweethearts since they first met as teenagers.
