The story starts during September of 2021. Started feeling weak, a type of weakness I now know is nothing to mess with. Finally on 11/3 went to family doctor who ordered immediate blood work. Hemoglobin low enough (5.2) they called me to go to the ER.
Had a unit of blood locally then on to Fort Wayne for more. Spent a day getting hemoglobin up then a day cleaning out for testing. We’d always used Cologuard but probably should have done more.
11/6 was a Saturday went in for colonoscopy and endoscopy. Had a tumor on colon high up on my right. Followed with CTs had a liver lesion and an enlarged lymph node in chest. So Stage 4.
Of course, devastated. The stats aren’t good. But each Stage 4 is its own circumstance.
After scans, PET scan, MRI my case went before Parkview’s “Tumor Board”. By the way, Parkview based out of Fort Wayne, it’s doctors and nurses have been perfect. And the tumor board idea to direct treatment is brilliant.
So went with 4 chemotherapy sessions 2 weeks apart to begin.
They have so much they do and give you now to keep the chemo from making you sick it’s amazing.
So re-scan after those 4 and decide to go after the liver lesion. The liver surgeon- a brilliant man, Nick Sich, never called it anything but a tumor- went and got it in a 5-hour surgery on 2/22. Said it took 2 years off his life. It was right by the nest of veins/arteries at top of liver, 2 of 3 main ones went with it.
Then re-scan and restart chemo adding a third stronger chemo. We’ve done that seven times every 2 weeks.
So now we will look again at everything, may have radiation if that lymph node still looks bad but otherwise we’re near taking the original tumor out and moving on with our life!
My prayer, because I’m personally ready for any eventuality, but if the Lord sees fit and thinks they need me, to keep me around a bit to help Shirley and our girls Kathryn and Barbra negotiate this disaster of a world.
Any prayers along that line are welcome! Thanks to all!
Prayers up 🙏

It’s good to hear reports of competent, caring physicians after so much negative info for two+ years.
Sounds like he’s on the best path possible.
There are reports that Ivermectin can be effective with cancer, FWIW.
