In what appears to be an attempt to convince the world that it's ready to play with the big boys when it comes to military prowess, Iran unveiled the Qaher-313, a "super jet" with "state-of-the-art" technologies and "radar-evading" capabilities. The only problem? It's totally, completely, fake. And now it comes with a fake photoshopped background, too.

A picture used to be worth a thousand words in that fanciful interval between the court painting and the photoshop when a photograph was thought to have an unfalsifiable quality. That too was an illusion and the Communists were doing their own crude photoshops, removing purged leaders from photos around the same time as the invention of the ballpoint pen. But now the photo is a thing that is hard to take seriously. After a mini-controversy about a claim from President Obama that he shoots clay pigeons at Camp David, the White House released a photo of “Obama” shooting a $2500 Browning Citori shotgun. Problem: It doesn’t look like the President’s watch. And that leaves aside why the President is shooting a fancy Japanese-made gun instead of a down-to-earth Mossberg or Remington.

First the weapon is nearly level to the ground. Can't be skeet shooting, nor likely trap either. Second, it is evident that the President has never shot a shotgun before as his stance is leaning slightly backward. Look at the position of his torso to his legs. As Twitchy reported earlier today, the White House issued the photo with the stern warning that it “may not be manipulated in any way.” Some of these are just captions, though, and the rest aren’t manipulations, but rather a process left over from the Bush era called “enhancement.”

President Obama recently told the New Republic magazine, "Up at Camp David, we do skeet shooting all the time." Today, after some suggested the president's claim might not be true, the New Republic tweeted a picture supposedly proving that Obama has gone skeet shooting:

Back in August, Victoria's Secret accidentally published a set of two dozen raw, unretouched images from a photo shoot with supermodel Doutzen Kroes. Although we had to take down the unretouched images from our post after some kind of legal crap from VS, we knew the publication of the retouched versions in the brand's catalog was only a matter of time. And now we can show you all the images, both before and after the VS airbrush job. Many of the differences between the retouched and raw photographs are not terribly shocking. There aren't any missing limbs, or drastic alterations...
