It’s a cold, cruel world.

Success is a distant dream. Failure is just a breath away. Risk avoidance is code phrase of the day. Don’t step out of line. Best to keep your head down and go unnoticed. Stealth is the way to survival.

Don’t travel alone.

There is security in numbers. Groups have the power to negotiate, to make alliances. Only by sticking together can you prosper. Individuals are targets. The lions pick off those who stray from the herd.

Blend in.

You do not know what’s best for you. You can not do it on your own. The leaders know what’s best for you. They will take care of you. No one should be left behind. You do not want to be left behind. They will make sure you are not left behind.

Keep up.

Rules are necessary to survive. The leaders have made the rules. The rules are for your protection. The rules keep everyone safe. The rules keep everyone together. The rules do not allow anyone to stray. The rules cover every contingency. Do not question the rules.

Obey the rules.

Your ancestors did it on their own. Your ancestors made something new. Your ancestors gave you much. Your ancestors did things the wrong way. Your ancestors stole from others. Your ancestors were bad. There is no wisdom from the dead. Now is all that matters.

Times have changed.

You are not your ancestors. You can not make it on your own. You can not make anything new. You do not want to be bad like they were. You will give back what was stolen. You have so much. You must share. There are others behind you. You must help them stay with the herd. You must not get ahead of the herd.

They need.

Don’t be greedy. The leaders will provide for you. But they must also provide for the others. You should not have more than you need. Your profit is another’s loss. Your success is another’s failure. We will not let them fail. So we can not let you succeed. The Rules will not let you succeed. It is for your own good. It is for the good of all.

We are all the same.

Trust in your leaders. They know what to do. You do not have all the information. You do not need all the information. They have all the information. They need all the information. Tell them what they ask. Do not ask them to tell. They will tell you what you need.

Stay quiet.
