I'm sure we've all seen by now the "photo op" of President Obama shooting skeet. If he's shooting skeet then I'm Daffy Duck.
Now, what's wrong with the president's picture? First the weapon is nearly level to the ground. Can't be skeet shooting, nor likely trap either. Second, it is evident that the President has never shot a shotgun before as his stance is leaning slightly backward. Look at the position of his torso to his legs. Skeet or trap shooters never do this. They lean slightly forward like a boxer in the ring. Third, he doesn't know or was never taught that the butt of the weapon must fit to his shoulder. He's holding the weapon with a gap between his shoulder and the top of the butt. Sure you can fire it that way, but expect lots of pain if not bruising later.

The ‘7 reasons’ actually point to this being a rushed photo-op, not a photoshop. There is no point going through all the trouble of a photoshop when you can just rush zero outside with a photographer and snap a photo.
All of those simple errors would be corrected to the detail if someone was going through the trouble of photoshopping it.
These errors simply scream that O had no idea what he was doing and they were rushing to get a picture.
And now for something completely different.

The vegetation indicates that this was taken some months ago.
Dumb. It isn’t a photoshop. This looks to me like campaign
footage they never used. They probably have video also.
Manchin from WV used a similar photo op during his 2010 Senate campaign.
I have never once seen a smoke pattern like that. Smoke going straight out the barrel is normal, but what the heck is that second smoke stream shooting behind and away from the barrel?
Many shotguns have vented barrels. It reduces recoil.
Anyone with even a slight passing knowledge of shooting knows this. Especially someone who has spent some time skeet shooting with others.
Be careful of all the articles by amateur experts(sic).
Calling it photo-shopped makes it look like a vast right-wing conspiracy. People won't believe it. They WILL believe it was a photo-op...which is clearly was...for the reasons the article points out.
“There is no point going through all the trouble of a photoshop when you can just rush zero outside with a photographer and snap a photo.”
Yeah. Pretty green for Feb. Yesterday, someone decoded the imbedded data. Think it was taken August 4, 2012, and modded a few days ago. He ain’t shootin’ Skeet. I shoot Skeet. And I’d bet his shoulder was quite sore for several days.
Off screen to the left: the original copy of Soetero’s birth certificate.
It’s no photo-op, it’s photo-oops!
Actually, “ported” barrels ported on top to reduce muzzle rise.
Would it only vent on one side, though? Seems to me that would push the barrel sideways and throw your aim off. But then, I’ve never shot skeet or used anything with a vented barrel.
When I said he was rushed outside for a photo-op, that doesn’t mean yesterday. I’m sure they have a lot of staged photos made up for the campaign (like another poster said).
The implication is that it is obvious this was staged, he is not an experienced shooter nor was this a ‘skeet’ shooting situation.
It is venting up, it just appears to be from one side because the dark color of the barrel kind of hides it from both so it looks like it is just coming from behind the barrel. If you look at the larger photo that was originally posted on flickr, you can see this and you can see the porting holes.
He aint shootin Skeet. I shoot Skeet. And Id bet his shoulder was quite sore for several days.
Yep. The lie here is the Skeet part. His campaign obviously filmed some Barry the Outdoorsman footage during the summer that was never used.
Post Sandy Hook the dims have been telling huge whoppers that they are really gun/hunting enthusiasts. That is where the Skeet lie fits in.
Except I don't think the trees around Camp David or anywhere else in the DC/Maryland/Virginia area look like that right now.
