SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A woman attacked by a shark off San Onofre State Beach over the weekend remains hospitalized and is "fighting for her life" at a local hospital. On April 29, Leeanne Ericson was swimming when a shark bit her. A San Jose man is in serious condition following a rattlesnake bite Monday afternoon east of Fremont on Mission Peak, a California Highway Patrol flight officer and paramedic said. The snake bit the man at about 1 p.m. on the top of Mission Peak during a hike with his wife. A CHP helicopter crew heard a call to emergency personnel, responded and landed on the peak. The victim was given anti-venom after being transported to Washington Hospital, CHP Flight Officer and Paramedic Shaun Bouyea said. Bouyea was the one who administered the anti-venom. UPPER MACUNGIE TWP., Pa. -- Police are investigating a tragedy where a woman was attacked and killed by her own dog in Upper Macungie Township, Lehigh County. It happened before 1:30 p.m. Thursday on Spring White Drive. Police say the woman, believed to be in her 30's, was attacked by her dog on the rear deck of her home. A fat beaver stuck in a wrought-iron fence was rescued this week by a quick-thinking animal services officer. The adult beaver, still carrying excess fat from winter hibernation, was found stuck between two fence bars around noon Tuesday on a private property in Hamilton, city spokesperson Ann Lamanes said in a release. Police in Oregon issued a "verbal warning" to a cat reportedly seen armed with a gun-shaped stick. Newport Oregon Police Department shared a photo of a black and white cat perched in a tree with its paw draped over a stick that appeared to resemble an automatic rifle. LOS ANGELES (WCMH) — Pet food manufacturer Party Animal is recalling several lots of its Cocolicious dog food after a sample tested positive for penobarbital. According to the company, a retailer in Texas reported a customer had presented samples of Cocolicious Beef & Turkey and Chicken & Beef dog food to a testing lab. The samples came back positive for penobarbital, a drug used in euthanasia.
