This hungry squirrel is taking New York by storm, one taco at a time.

New York’s wild animals have become internet sensations for snatching food crumbs off the street (2015’s Pizza Rat is perhaps the best-known among them). Naturally, this Twitter photo uploaded on Wednesday morning of a squirrel munching on a hard-shell taco in Brooklyn, is going viral.

When I read the headline I thought this was about squirrel tacos as a trendy new food in NYC.

Too big to bury. Might as well eat it.

Nothing cute about a dang squirrel. They can be vicious critters.
Anyone who gardens or has had on take up residence in your attic knows!

I trap/relocate the ones that I can.
The ones I can’t I kill w/my pellet rifle.

Vicious little bastards. I hate chipmunks, too!

Chipmunks are trainable and funny. I have a photo of one munching sunflower seeds—inches from my face—while perched atop my NRA (Life Member) baseball cap.

Put out a box filled with Styrofoam peanuts, sprinkle some sunflower seeds in it, and wait for two chipmunks to find it—at the same time!

Hilarious!

One of my cousins had a bunch of them in his attic. He killed four or five and hung them on this fence, but the town gave him a ticket and fine. So now he traps them, sprays a spot on their back with pink fluorescent paint, and takes them far away to turn loose. This way he can know if any individuals make their way back. I don’t know if squirrels are homing like many other kinds of animals, but so far he has had no returnees.

I release them four or five miles from the house with
lots of *major* surfaces streets that would have to be crossed.

The spot where I release them doesn’t a tree within a 100 yards.
I love watching those little buggers freakin’ looking for a tree.
