Turkey's anti-terrorism police have detained over 440 people for alleged links to the Islamic State group, the state-run agency reported Sunday. The Anadolu Agency said 60 IS suspects, the vast majority of them foreigners, were taken into custody early Sunday in the capital, Ankara. It said a total of 445 people were detained in simultaneous pre-dawn police operations that spanned several cities, including Istanbul and Gaziantep, near the border with Syria. The largest operation was in the southeast province of Sanliurfa, where police took into custody more than 100 suspects from multiple addresses and found materials relating to Islamic State...

Donald Trump: ‘I don’t want the celebrities — I want the people’ By David Sherfinski - The Washington Times - Wednesday, January 18, 2017 President-elect Donald Trump says he wants “the people” — not the celebrities — at this week’s inaugural events and that there will be crowds “rarely seen before.” “Many of the celebrities that are saying they’re not going — they were never invited,” Mr. Trump said in an interview that aired Wednesday on “Fox & Friends.” “I don’t want the celebrities — I want the people.” “And we have the biggest celebrities in the world there —...

Waitress Kelly Carter said a couple had written on the receipt: "Great service don't tip black people." Owner Tommy Tellez told BBC News the response has been "phenomenal". People have been dropping by the restaurant to give Ms Carter cash, Mr Tellez said, and a YouCaring campaign has raised over $300 (£245) for her. Her regular customers have been dropping by to give her hugs. Tipping is customary in the US, where restaurant servers often earn less than the minimum wage, with tips supposed to make up the difference in pay. The white couple who left the note appeared to...

The losers are angry... If you were arranging publications based on their political content, any given issue of GQ Magazine would sit comfortably to the left of Marx & Engels. GQ is to sane political discourse what a pack of rabid pit bulls is to a steak. After all, this is the rag that keeps Keith Olbermann locked in a basement closet, where a food pellet drops each time he records one of his insane rants for YouTube. That means they have a nasty habit of letting the mask slip and sharing their insane feelings. In a year where the...

The question isn't easy to answer in the current climate of marked instability. In past ages, Muslim conquerors were very brutal against Christian kingdoms, but conquered peoples of the book, Christians and Jews, were somewhat safer as long as they paid the jizya tax and accepted second class status. The question is, are Muslims more intolerant of secular people, who are typically out-of-control sexually, and except for fear, generally despise religious people.

Yes, it is good that Donald Trump defeated Hillary Clinton, especially in light of revelations of her private email security breaches and pay-for-play administration of the State Department. If true, she belongs in prison. However, what is ominous is the number of voters who, despite all that was known of her crimes, still voted for her. This is not a sign of a healthy American electorate. It seems the same citizens who voted for Barack Obama in 2012 after his disastrous first four years voted for her. Many people who go the polls in our generation are simply not thinking....

This song represents the Deplorables. It's us as we vote and give the big FU to the elite. Take your friends lets get Trump elected.

Regardless of who wins the election in November, here are 10 things that I think he or she should keep in mind: --The old media rules do not apply. Do we still have to emphasize this in an era of smartphones, Facebook and Twitter? You do not control the media, and the media does not control the message. Oh, I know that the Obama administration has made media manipulation an art form -- and that the media has been more than happy to comply. But everyone is the media now. We found out about Hillary Clinton's pneumonia because of a...

With the prospect of a President Donald Trump or a President Hillary Clinton on the horizon, the growing trend toward the executive acting without the consent of Congress is troubling to all political stripes. Both parties claim to worry about a strong presidency, at least if the other party is in the White House. That trend has been exacerbated by President Obama, but it certainly didn’t start with him. With the exception of Calvin Coolidge, every president of the 20th and 21st centuries contributed to the problem. Many proposals to address the imperial presidency have been floated over the decades....

How much do some people hate the idea of a President Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump? Apparently enough that they'd rather die in an apocalyptic event than see it become a reality. According to the latest survey by the left-leaning Public Policy Polling, 13 percent of people would rather have a giant meteor hit Earth than elect Clinton or Trump. .. The exact question: "If the choices for President were Democrat Hillary Clinton, Republican Donald Trump, and a Giant Meteor hitting the earth which would you choose?" About 43 percent opted for Clinton, 38 percent for Trump, 13 percent for...

At least 24 people are still missing after a collapse at Guatemala City's largest garbage dump this week that killed four people, the city said on Friday. People sifting through the dump, which receives about 500 truckloads of trash every day, were caught unawares on Wednesday when part of the massive heap of garbage caved in, according to authorities in Guatemala City. Four people were killed and 15 were rescued from the mountains of waste with injuries. City spokesman Carlos Sandoval said the 24 missing included seven recycling workers. Others had apparently entered the dump illegally, he said. The search...

Brian Jones and Gregg Giannotti of the CBS national radio show "The Gio and Jones Show" had an interesting back and forth on the city of Syracuse on Monday morning. "You know the thing I don't like about them?" Giannotti said. "They say, 'We're New York's team. We're New York's team.' No you're not. You're not New York's team. You're Upstate New York's team. You're Central New York's team." "New York City and like Central New York. It's a long way away," he continued. "It's not really this area. People talk differently there. They look differently there. It's sort of...

I met my new roommates on Craigslist. Two white, one Chinese. Together we represented Portland, Florida, China and (with me) D.C., and as we moved into our apartment in Bed-Stuy last fall, I was excited for the potential of cross-cultural exchange. We had a get-to-know you powwow on the rooftop. We talked about ourselves, what brought us to New York. It was a warm evening in September, a couple of weeks after Michael Brown was shot, and somewhere in the mix I brought up Ferguson, hoping to spark a “conscious conversation.†Then it happened. The nightmarish response. “What’s happening in...

For years Americans have warned other Americans about the government confiscating their firearms, taking their property rights away under the guise of climate change (agenda 21) and have built secret reeducation prisons around the United States to imprison Americans who do not support this out of control government. Of course these Americans were called “black helicopter conspiracy nuts” and the “tinfoil” crowd just to name a few of the disparaging name calling.

Imagine you’re about to go on a first date. You Yelp the restaurant, naturally, to make sure that it has something edible on the menu; then you Google the person, naturally, to make sure that they’re not obnoxious on social media. Simple enough! In a (perhaps inevitable) new development, these two perfectly innocuous Internet searches are coming together in Peeple, an app that will allow users to rate and search other human beings. It’s Yelp for people, and it’s coming in November. When the app launches, users will be able to review their friends, coworkers, and romantic partners — who...

A macaque monkey who took now-famous selfie photographs should be declared the copyright owner of the photos, rather than the nature photographer who positioned the camera, animal-rights activists contend in a novel lawsuit filed Tuesday. The suit was filed in federal court in San Francisco by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. It seeks a court order allowing PETA to administer all proceeds from the photos for the benefit of the monkey, which it identified as 6-year-old Naruto, and other crested macaques living in a reserve on the Indonesian island of Sulawesi. The photos were taken during a 2011...

An ‘intelligent’ robot offered a truly chilling answer to an interviewer’s question, ‘Will robots take over the world?’ ‘Don’t worry, even if I evolve into Terminator, I’ll keep you warm and safe in my people zoo, where I can watch you for ol’ times sake,’ the bearded robot intoned. His interviewer, from PBS, is visibly taken aback by the answer. The robot – modelled after Philip K Dick, the novelist whose work inspired Blade Runner – uttered the terrifying words in an interview with PBS in 2011, in response to the question, ‘Will robots take over the world?. The robot...

Kemeling quit her job on Saturday, and the 28-year-old didn't waste any time hitting the streets – literally – looking for work. She parked herself on Niagara Street in Buffalo, New York, with a stack of résumés and a sign reading, "Not Homeless but Hungry for Success!! Take a Résumé." (Snip) Brian Levine, who owned the business (Jewelers in the Town of Tonawanda, New York) told BuffaloNews.com that Kemeling didn't have the experience for the position and described her abrupt departure as "baffling." "I want to keep my options open," Kemeling told the site, adding that she ended up receiving...

Since Donald Trump announced his candidacy for president, the media have bent over backwards to destroy him. It’s not just the New York Times and CNN, but outlets like William F. Buckley’s National Review, the Wall Street Journal, and other “mainstream” outlets of the right. To these media outlets’ consternation, despite their crazed efforts to demean, discredit, and deny the appetite among Americans for Trump’s message, more and more people are coming out to hear and support the one candidate who appears to have listened to them–and is leading the charge as opposed to opining from behind the RNC’s skirts....
