Since last Friday, this has been going viral. The Donald Trump vs Talking Heads video. A hilarious mash-up of Swede Mason, an English musician/video editor. Once in a Lifetime is completely 'sung' by Donald Trump... a brilliant, crazy piece of video editing...

SIERRA VISTA — On the surface, Samuel Vaughan is like any other 12-year-old boy. He loves video games, collects comic books and is especially crazy about Transformers. The difference is, he writes musical compositions about them. “I started playing violin three years ago with the Cochise County Youth Orchestra,” Vaughan said. “I played with them for five semesters.” Vaughan left the youth orchestra to allow time for private lessons and follow his interest in composing. “I love playing violin, but I really like composing as well,” he said. “I joined the Young Composers Project in Tucson and my first composition...

In the video, posted to Handler’s Twitter account, comedian Fortune Feimster wears a wig in an attempt to resemble Sanders as she runs through an exaggerated beauty routine. “I used to not know what foundation was, but our great president was kind enough to take me to a Sephora, and he said to the boy, ‘Hey, you see that fella over there? Make him a woman,'” Feimster-as-Sanders says in one of many digs at the press secretary’s looks in the short clip.

Welcome to the first of our December celebrations of the big hits from the Christmas songbook. We start with one of the most beloved seasonal numbers, which celebrates its 75th birthday this holiday season: In December 1942, the Number One hit on the Billboard chart was the very first record of this song by Bing Crosby. This special Song of the Week audio edition includes rare material from the Steyn archive and a special live performance of "White Christmas". Mark visits the home of Mary Ellin Barrett, daughter of the man who gave us "God Bless America", "Blue Skies", "Easter...

For those who appreciate the music of the 70's.

However bad the prequels/sequels are, remember that once upon a time George Lucas signed off on this:

I'm hoping this song doesn't get banned. It rocks pretty good. Especially on a hot summer night, driving with the windows down, after having stopped for some fried clams by the beach.

Unreleased songs recorded by Jimi Hendrix between 1968 and 1970 will be released next year. Experience Hendrix and Legacy Recordings announced Wednesday that they will release Hendrix’s “Both Sides of the Sky” on March 9, 2018. The 13-track album includes 10 songs that have never been released. Hendrix died in 1970 at age 27. The new album is the third volume in a trilogy from the guitar hero’s archive. “Valleys of Neptune” was released in 2010, followed by “People, Hell and Angels,” released in 2013. Eddie Kramer, who worked as recording engineer on every Hendrix album made during the artist’s...

The French rock star, who died at 74 of lung cancer at his home outside Paris Wednesday, had a career spanning 57 years. He sold more than 100 million albums, but was little known outside his own country. USA Today once called him "the greatest rock star you never heard of." Retrospectives and tributes have poured in, and France's Prime Minister Edouard Philippe paid tribute to Hallyday in Parliament. "Johnny Hallyday had a special place in our country," he said. "We are all emotional this morning. Every French person has a song that comes to mind when they think of...

Not Christmasy yet? How about Peter, Paul and Mary's "Stewball" for Deep Space 9's Dr Julian Bashir?

Not Christmasy? Here's an oldie. Patti Page's "Mockingbird Hill" for Wally Cox in the 1950's Adventures of Hiram Holliday.

Patti Smith’s long, slender fingers trembled just thinking about being a writer during the presidency of Donald Trump. “I don’t know how people are even able to contain themselves and contain their rage,” Smith said, “I always felt, even if I didn’t agree with whomever was our president, I felt that I could still walk tall wherever I want. I still was myself. But there’s something about this current administration where I feel tainted as a human being.” On Monday night at the Whitney Museum in Manhattan, Smith and Salman Rushdie commiserated about Trump and otherwise compared notes on everything...

Dr. Joe Bennett, a scientist from Boston says he's engineered the perfect Christmas song, by studying 200 Christmas songs and looking at lyrics, tempo, vocals, and musical key you need to make a hit. He engineered a new song called "Love's Not Just For Christmas" and, well, it really DOES sound like a classic Christmas song.

After facing increasing pressure to take some form of action, Netflix has fired The Ranch star Danny Masterson, effective immediately. The actor stands accused of raping four women in the early 2000s; the Los Angeles County District Attorney and Los Angeles Police Department continue to investigate the claims. “As a result of ongoing discussions, Netflix and the producers have written Danny Masterson out of The Ranch,” a Netflix spokesperson tells TVLine. “[Monday] was his last day on the show, and production will resume in early 2018 without him.”... Masterson also serves as an exec producer on The Ranch, although there’s...

Netflix has reached an agreement to resume production on “House of Cards” season 6 — the show’s final season — in early 2018, according to chief content officer Ted Sarandos. Production of “House of Cards” season 6 was suspended in October, following sexual assault allegations against star Kevin Spacey. Season six of the political thriller will be eight episodes, starring Robin Wright. The final season will not include Spacey, as previously announced.

December is here, and, before we get into our cornucopia of Christmas selections, I wanted to mark the anniversary of a non-seasonal song introduced to the world at the Coronet Theatre in New York seventy years ago this month - December 11th 1947. It's still widely known, although allusions to it can be perilous. A couple of years back, making some observations on Britain's "overseas development" budget, Godfrey Bloom, a UKIP member of the European Parliament, found himself in hot water - indeed, a veritable cannibal's cooking pot - when he opined that there's no point wasting taxpayers' money by...

Not into Christmas? How about "Ride Forever" for Due South, sung by Paul Gross, himself?

"It's Christmas at Ground Zero, there's music in the air. The sleigh bells are ringing and the carollers are singing while the air raid sirens blare."A bit of Yuletide cheer as we prepare for the fat man (no not Santa!)
