Missouri's secretary of state Jason Kander officially declared Tuesday that Donald Trump won a narrow victory over Ted Cruz and will win the state's 12 at-large delegates. The final tally found Trump edging out Cruz 40.8%-40.6%, or by fewer than 2,000 votes in the March 15 primary. The additional 12 delegates give Trump an important boost after he was swept by Cruz in Colorado over the weekend at the Colorado Republican convention. The additional delegates bring Trump slightly closer to the 1,237 needed to secure the nomination. By CNN's estimates, Trump now has 758 delegates, Cruz has 538, Marco Rubio...

Back in early March, University of Missouri Chancellor Hank Foley wrote a "Dear Mizzou Community" letter informing students and faculties that freshmen enrollment was down by more than 1500 students creating a budget shortfall of $32 million. The shortfall would mean job cuts and an increase in student fees. Yesterday, the university informed students that two dorms would be shuttered in order to more efficiently use their facilities. The school announced a 5 percent cut "to all annual recurring general revenue budgets" and an "across-the-board hiring freeze for all units on campus." The dorm closures are only the latest cost-cutting...

YOU WON’T BELIEVE THIS! CRUZ SUPPORTERS ATTEMPT COUP AT EAGLE FORUM! Conservative icon Phyllis Schlafly has been a national leader of the conservative movement since the publication of her best-selling 1964 book, A Choice Not An Echo. She has been a leader of the pro-family movement since 1972 when she led the fight to defeat the Equal Rights Amendment. Phyllis Schlafly is 91 years-old. On March 11, 2016 conservative icon Phyllis Schlafly endorsed Donald Trump for President at his St. Louis rally. But not everyone in her organization, Eagle Forum – or her family – agreed with Phyllis Schlafly’s...

According to St. Louis, Mo., news station KMOV News 4, the State of Missouri’s Department of Motor Vehicles has permitted personalized terrorism license plates, that read “JIHAD1” and “HAMAS.” In response to emails it received from viewers, News 4 investigated a Missouri license plate reading ‘JIHAD 1’. According to News4: “… examined the policies for granting or denying personalized license plates [and] made several requests for an on-camera interview with a representative of the Missouri Department of Motor Vehicles on the State’s reasons for allowing the JIHAD plate, but no one was made available to talk.” The Muslim couple...

Donald Trump’s effort to reset his campaign following defeat in Wisconsin showed no signs of paying off this weekend, as a series of technical failures by his campaign set his hopes back even further. From Thursday to Saturday, Trump suffered setbacks in Colorado, Iowa, Michigan, South Carolina and Indiana that raise new doubts about his campaign’s preparedness for the long slog of delegate hunting as the GOP race approaches a possible contested convention. He lost the battle on two fronts. Cruz picked up 28 pledged delegates in Colorado. In the other states, rival campaigns were able to place dozens of...

The St. Louis County Republican Caucus was held today at the Missouri River Township Caucus at the Westminster Christian Academy – near highways 40 and 270 this afternoon. Lloyd Sloan was at the conference today. Here is his firsthand account: There were two slates that were voted on today at the convention. One was called “Cruz” and the other “Trump.” So there was no confusion there. The vote took place by a public count. It’s when there is a standing vote and everybody is counted off. It is pretty above board. The vote was tied, 27-27. But a few people...

A Senate committee voted 5-2 Thursday to endorse holding regional Planned Parenthood CEO Mary Kogut in contempt of the Senate, which can entail a fine and 10 days in jail The resolution would demand she come to the Senate to answer why she has not complied with a subpoena involving lawmakers’ investigation into fetal tissue donation. Senate Majority Leader Mike Kehoe said he expects the Senate to vote on the contempt resolutions next week. Planned Parenthood has said...

"I would challenge any American to go and see the screening process and not be convinced that it is incredibly thorough and, secondly, to not have their heart pulled by the children, these children and their families, that are fleeing horrendous circumstances." — Missouri Sen. Claire McCaskill who traveled to Austria, Jordan and Israel last week and came away reassured about the screening process for Syrian refugees.

A Missouri State Senator is pursuing action by his colleagues to hold a St. Louis Planned Parenthood official in contempt of the Senate. Senator Kurt Schaefer of Columbia has filed Senate Resolution 1793, which would formalize contempt proceeding against Mary Kogut, the President of Planned Parenthood of St. Louis. Kogut has refused to honor a subpoena to appear before a special Senate committee that Schaeffer chairs, the Senate Sanctity of Human Life Committee. That committee was convened last summer to investigate allegations that Planned Parenthood officials were engaged in the illegal trafficking of the organs and body parts of aborted...

AMMAN, Jordan — The first Syrian family to be resettled in the U.S. under a speeded-up "surge operation" for refugees left Jordan on Wednesday for Kansas City, Missouri, to start a new life. Ahmad al-Abboud, who is being resettled with his wife and five children, said he is thankful to Jordan, where he has lived for three years after fleeing Syria's civil war. But the 45-year-old from Homs, Syria, said he was ready to build a better life in the U.S.

Voters in Ferguson, Missouri, rejected a property tax increase that would have helped fund changes to its police department required by the U.S. Justice Department after the city erupted in violence following the shooting of a black teenager in 2014. A new sales tax did pass, but the city will still be left with a financial shortfall as the property tax proposal did not meet the required two-thirds threshold to be enacted. The city may try to put the proposal on the ballot again in August. "There is still a deficit," Ferguson Mayor James Knowles said on Wednesday, the day...

America’s privileged students at elite colleges and universities continue to be traumatized by speech they find “hurtful” and “threatening.” Last November at Yale it was a faculty email suggesting that students should lighten up on policing Halloween costumes for racial insensitivity. At the University of Missouri, some students were offended by the administration’s failure to investigate and punish alleged racial slurs. A Harvard student recently told FOX News’ Meghan Kelly that displaying the American flag in a dorm room or just being in the same class with a pro-life student is hurtful and insensitive.

Missouri Republicans are looking back more than a century for guidance as they consider whether to hold a regional Planned Parenthood CEO in contempt of the Senate — a rare judgment that could carry jail time. Senators from both parties have raised questions about how they’d carry out a process that may include testimony before the entire chamber, arrests and sentencing decisions. They’ve found little direction from recent history; so far, legislative librarians say the last contempt proceeding they’ve found occurred in 1903. A Senate panel is to consider proposals Tuesday that would summon Mary Kogut, who heads Planned Parenthood...
  • 2nd dummy found hanging by noose in Spring Valley

SPRING VALLEY - For the second time in a week, the Orthodox Jewish tradition for the Purim holiday has alarmed non-Jewish members of the Spring Valley community. When News 12 went to the home on Wednesday, the doll was found folded over on the porch. The homeowner declined comment. Residents say the doll was hung by children for Purim to symbolize the death of the ancient tyrant Haman and was not meant to offend. Hundreds took to social media after a black-faced doll was found hanging nearby, on Paikin Drive in Spring Valley. Rockland NAACP President Wilbur Aldridge says he...

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MO (KTVI) - At Archway Memorial Chapel in Hazelwood, owner Kenneth McGhee had nothing but good things to say about the Patriot Guard Riders, a volunteer motorcycle group that escorts funeral processions for fallen service members. "Very kind people, very diligent," McGhee said. "They are very dignified and very proud of the service they provide for fellow veterans." McGhee was particularly distressed to learn that a 64-year-old Patriot Guard Rider was struck by a vehicle and killed in south St. Louis County Monday while escorting a procession that originated at his funeral home. Attorney General Loretta Lynch issued a nine-page letter through her civil-rights division to municipal and state judges around the United States, warning them to ease off prosecution of criminals, particularly those of minority status, or else face loss of federal funding. Specifically, she wants the 6,500 municipal level courts in the country to offer community service in lieu of jail time, or provide more “amnesty days” to those with outstanding warrants so they can pay a fee instead of serving behind bars, the New York Post reported. A Missouri court has struck down parts of a law meant to address concerns raised after the police shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson. A Cole County judge ruled Monday it is unconstitutional to limit St. Louis-area municipalities to less traffic ticket and court fine revenues than cities elsewhere in the state. The judge also struck down requirements for those cities’ police departments, including written use-of-force policies and procedures for reporting police stops. …

So, after the whole mess surrounding the poop swastika; instances of harassment that were allegedly racially-motivated, though unverifiable since they occurred off campus; and a professor who was charged with assaulting a student reporter at protests over said events has a caused a budget shortfall at the University of Missouri. I know, totally shocking, right? (via Daily Caller): The University of Missouri (MU) is losing about 1500 students and is facing a huge $32 million budget shortfall four months after it attracted national attention as the site of massive race-based campus protests.“I am writing to you today to confirm...
