Missouri's secretary of state Jason Kander officially declared Tuesday that Donald Trump won a narrow victory over Ted Cruz and will win the state's 12 at-large delegates. The final tally found Trump edging out Cruz 40.8%-40.6%, or by fewer than 2,000 votes in the March 15 primary. The additional 12 delegates give Trump an important boost after he was swept by Cruz in Colorado over the weekend at the Colorado Republican convention. Back in early March, University of Missouri Chancellor Hank Foley wrote a "Dear Mizzou Community" letter informing students and faculties that freshmen enrollment was down by more than 1500 students creating a budget shortfall of $32 million. The shortfall would mean job cuts and an increase in student fees. Yesterday, the university informed students that two dorms would be shuttered in order to more efficiently use their facilities. Voters in Ferguson, Missouri, rejected a property tax increase that would have helped fund changes to its police department required by the U.S. Justice Department after the city erupted in violence following the shooting of a black teenager in 2014. A Missouri court has struck down parts of a law meant to address concerns raised after the police shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson. A Cole County judge ruled Monday it is unconstitutional to limit St. Louis-area municipalities to less traffic ticket and court fine revenues than cities elsewhere in the state.
