Rand Paul is right: Cruz's career in the Senate is "done for." Once he leaves, he can become a full-time grafter.I’m not sure when it started, but at some point the Republican Party ceded the business of governance to the Democrats. Maybe it began with the Tea Party movement or Fox News or the larger conservative media-industrial complex – I honestly don’t know. But it’s clear now that the GOP is no longer a legitimate governing party. A party that allows rank neophytes like Herman Cain and Donald Trump and Ben Carson and Carly Fiorina to run for the highest...

Paul and McConnell have support each other. Sen. Rand Paul on Tuesday said fellow Republican presidential candidate Ted. Cruz is “done for” in the Senate. “Ted has chosen to make this really personal and chosen to call people dishonest in leadership and call them names, which really goes against the decorum and also against the rules of the Senate, and as a consequence, he can’t get anything done legislatively,” Paul told Fox News Radio. “He is pretty much done for and stifled and it’s really because of personal relationships, or lack of personal relationships, and it is a problem.” Paul,...

While Breitbart News has been reporting for months that Rep. John Boehner (R-OH)’s speakership was in jeopardy, the Washington media was stunned on Friday with the historic announcement of Boehner’s resignation. The anti-leadership sentiment seems to be growing as the Washington Times is now reporting that a top Republican party official, Louisiana GOP Chairman Roger Villere, has called for Senate Majority Leader Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY)’s resignation. The populist, anti-establishment groundswell could spell trouble for the presidential campaign of donor-class darling Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)—who has twice fearlessly ignored voters and risked his political career to advance the goals of...

…and burns his lips, which may make it more difficult for him to kiss a certain Majority Leader’s arse. From Breitbart, Julia Hahn reporting, we learn that Don Marco may be in trouble: The populist, anti-establishment groundswell could spell trouble for the presidential campaign of donor-class darling Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) — who has twice fearlessly ignored voters and risked his political career to advance the goals of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. … Now that the Republican base has its sights set on Mitch McConnell, it could pose a serious problem for the campaign of Sen. Marco Rubio, whose...

2016 GOP presidential candidate Senator Rand Paul (R-KS) called into Kilmeade & Friends and talked about Senator Ted Cruz being rebuffed on the senate floor by republicans who failed to allow him a roll call vote, John Boehner stepping down as Speaker of the House, why he feels it’s important to be present for votes on the senate floor, defunding Planned Parenthood, why he thinks Scott Walker dropped out of the race as well as news coming out of the UN on Syria and Russia. Listen here: (AUDIO-AT-LINK)Senator Ted Cruz being snubbed with not one republican granting him the procedural...

Labeling Cruz a conservative underestimates how dangerous he is. It's time we called out this Messianic crusader. The people of Texas owe America an apology. They elected Ted Cruz to the United States Senate, and now the country is forced to endure his presence throughout the interminable election season. Cruz has worked diligently (and successfully) to become the least liked human being in Congress. Judging by last night, he’s hated most by his Republican colleagues, who, once again, blocked his inane efforts to shut down the government unless it defunded Planned Parenthood. Both Republicans and Democrats passed a temporary spending...

Ted Cruz couldn’t get anyone in the Senate to back him tonight as he tried to get a ban on Planned Parenthood funding and a linkage of the Iran Nuclear deal in a government funding bill. He stood alone on the Senate floor. After this Cruz launched into an hour speech, one that Mark Levin just tweeted out saying it’s a MUST LISTEN. I haven’t heard the whole thing yet but didn’t want to keep it from you while I checked it out.

Democrats shouldn't take glee in Boehner's ousting: the revolution is done messing around, and they are next. “You can almost see the circuits blowing.” – Neil Peart, in Far Cry It’s hard to pinpoint exactly when it started, but with Speaker John Boehner’s resignation announcement, there’s no doubt the revolution has begun. Perhaps it was the first time you bookmarked the Drudge Report. Or maybe, when at the Drudge Report, you said: “Who is this Breitbart?” Eric Cantor’s primary loss to Dave Brat was certainly a moment when the revolution was stirring and produced tangible results rather than just internet...

Kentucky Senator and Republican presidential candidate Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) stated that he will “oppose Senator McConnell (R-KY) when he brings forward the continuing resolution,” but didn’t offer his support to McConnell staying as majority leader, citing a lack of an election or other choices, and arguing, “it isn’t about opposing a person” on Monday’s “America’s Newsroom” on the Fox News Channel.

Show Mitch McConnell the Door Christian Whiton September 28. Last week, House Speaker John Boehner decided to retire rather than chance being ousted by his own colleagues. Despite this lucky break, the congressional GOP has little chance of winning back disenchanted Republican voters unless it also shows Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell the door. Continued Republican control of the Senate is on the line. A brand-new poll reveals that 72 percent of Republican primary voters are dissatisfied with McConnell and Boehner. Only 2 percent of those polled were “very satisfied” with the party’s two congressional leaders, who the majority believe...

A senior Republican official is urging Kentucky Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) to resign from his job as the Republican leader of the Senate. “Mitch is a good and honorable guy, but the base is leaving our party,” Roger Villere, the chairman of the Louisiana GOP... “I’ve worked for 12 years as chairman to build this party, and I just don’t want to see it all go down the drain because the [leaders] aren’t willing to fight for what we believe… Our base is demanding we do something or they’re going to leave us,” said Villare, who also holds a position...

With John Boehner now departing as House speaker, an influential Republican Party official is now seeking the ouster of another GOP leader who has frustrated conservatives: Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. “McConnell needs to resign!!” Louisiana GOP Chairman Roger Villere wrote in a Facebook posting. Mr. Villere isn’t just any Republican. He’s the longest-serving state GOP chairman in the nation, with 12 years on the job, and is the vice chairman of the Republican National Committee, the GOP’s national governing body. He also serves on the RNC’s executive committee that makes decisions alongside Chairman Reince Priebus. “Mitch is a good...

Re: Your statement about "We Lose because... conservative grassroots... yada yada." Wrong. We win, you lose.. You lost because of your boneheaded, slavish devotion to big government. You lost because you declared war against the conservative base of your party. You lost because you danced to the tune of the big GOPe donors. You lost because you failed your constituency. You lost because you lied to the voters. You lost because you're a sniveling coward. You lost because you failed to fight for the constitution. You lost because you are an incompetent nincompoop. And your partner in crime and equally...

“McConnell needs to resign!!” Louisiana GOP Chairman Roger Villere wrote... Villere isn’t just any Republican. He’s the longest-serving state GOP chairman in the nation...the vice chairman of the RNC... also serves on the RNC’s executive committee... Aides for McConnell...did not return repeated calls and emails seeking comment. {Priebus} was unavailable Sunday. {Boehner resigned] and ...an ideological irony there is that his probable replacement, Kevin McCarthy...is closer politically to Mr. Boehner than to the more ideologically passionate members ... The same may hold true for Mr. McConnell... Villere said...“Honestly, I haven really thought of a replacement,” Villere did say what {offends...

GOP Representative: Mitch McConnell ‘Next Guy in the Crosshairs’ by JOEL GEHRKE September 25, 2015 Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R., Ky.) will be the next target of conservatives frustrated with party leadership, according to one of the conservative representatives who pressured House speaker John Boehner in the weeks leading up to his resignation. “Next guy in the crosshairs will probably be McConnell,” Representative Matt Salmon (R., Ariz.) said in a text message to Senator Mike Lee (R., Utah), according to National Journal’s Sarah Mimms. Lee replied that he doubts that will happen. Still, Salmon’s speculation reflects a theory of...

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R., Ky.) will be the next target of conservatives frustrated with party leadership, according to one of the conservative representatives who pressured House speaker John Boehner in the weeks leading up to his resignation. “Next guy in the crosshairs will probably be McConnell,” Representative Matt Salmon (R., Ariz.) said in a text message to Senator Mike Lee (R., Utah), ... That fits a theory of Boehner’s struggles that is common among the outgoing speaker’s friends and foes alike — that his unpopularity among the grassroots stems more from McConnell’s failure to take advantage of the...

Senator Ted Cruz made a powerful case against the Republican Party’s Capitol Hill “leadership” in an op-ed in yesterday’s POLITICO, “President Barack Obama fights relentlessly for his liberal priorities. Like the Terminator, he never gives up, he never stops. And Republican leadership responds to every challenge by surrendering at the outset.” (You can read the entire piece through this link) Mitch McConnellBefore you say, “What’s the big deal we conservatives have been saying that for years,” that’s not the key point to which we wish to draw your attention, although it is a good one. The observation that we found...

Rep. Dave Brat (R-VA) gave his own Republican congressional leadership a failing grade for not going “all in” to solve the nation’s fiscal problems and for not fighting President Obama’s executive overreach. “I’d give them all F’s. Fail. We did not fight. We didn’t win. My district sent me up here to score some points,” Brat said Friday after C-SPAN Washington Journal host Peter Slen asked the Tea Party-backed freshman congressman what he thought about House Speaker John Boehner’s leadership over the past year. Brat noted the Republican-controlled Congress’ failure to defund Planned Parenthood in the wake of graphic undercover...

When Osama bin Laden was banished from Sudan in 1996, he left the country in a rented Soviet jet — an aged and antique Tupolev flown by a Russian pilot he did not trust. With him were a few bodyguards, his military commander, Saif al-Adel, and two sons named Sa’ad and Omar — both young men in their late teens. Although it was the corrupt Islamic government of Sudan that had robbed Osama bin Laden of much of his vast personal wealth, he blamed America for his misfortunes, according to Pulitzer Prize-winner Lawrence Wright. “He held America responsible for the...

Why on earth would Republicans do that?” That is a question I’ve been asked at least a dozen times since illustrating that the GOP has played a cynical game in connection with President Obama’s Iran deal. “Follow the money” is a common answer to questions about political motivation. It may not explain everything in this case, but it is certainly relevant. This spring, Republican leadership colluded with the White House and congressional Democrats to enact a law — the Corker-Cardin Iran Nuclear Agreement Review Act — that guaranteed Obama would be authorized to lift sanctions against Iran (the main objective...
