MINNEAPOLIS -- The Republican Party of Minnesota says it has received multiple complaints about failing tabulation machines at polling places around the state. A statement issued Tuesday says there are complaints about machines in Duluth, Olmsted County, Lakeville, Faribault, Mendota Heights and Eagan. The party calls the situation "completely unacceptable" and blames Secretary of State Mark Ritchie for failing to prepare for the election.

SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. -- A 9-year-old boy was rescued on Saturday morning after climbing into a claw-crane vending machine at a Wal-Mart in Sun Prairie. Firefighters said that somehow the boy crawled through the 1-foot-by-1-foot opening on the front of the machine and was sitting with the stuffed animals inside. ST. PAUL, Minn.—Federal prosecutors say a 61-year-old Mankato man has been sentenced to a year and a day in prison for possessing three machine guns. The U.S. attorney's office says Ronald Willis Strand was sentenced Thursday in St. Paul by Judge Donovan Frank. In his plea agreement, Strand admitted possessing a .223-caliber Model A-15 machine gun on May 14, 2009, and possessing two other machine guns.
