The Soros propaganda machine and shale gas
American Thinker ^ | 1/11/11 | Ed Lasky

Posted on 01/11/2011 11:50:23 AM PST by Nachum

America's huge reserves of natural gas-bearing shale offer lower energy prices, and the hope of increasing our energy independence. George Soros is determined to use his wiles and network of grant recipients to hobble development of America's energy ace in the hole.

The movie Gasland came out of nowhere to slam the shale gas industry -- an industry that has already substantially brought down the price of natural gas throughout the nation, saving consumers and business untold billions of dollars in energy costs. The natural gas boom spawned by technologies such as horizontal drilling and fracking have also enriched citizens and states that have reaped part of the bounty brought to the surface by these technologies. Gasland casts aspersions regarding the safety of these technologies, especially to the water tables.

The film's charges have been rebutted . State departments that regulate energy development have praised energy companies for their environmentally sensitive practices.

Shale gas would mess up ol georgee's new power company deal and his cap n trade scam. Hard to corner the market on the world's energy consumption if you don't crush the competition. Georgee porgee, king o' the world.

I work in the oil/gas business, and I have to deal with people that have been influenced by just this kind of disinformation. It’s sickening.

Soros has investment in KOG, an oil company with large interests in the Bakken shale of North Dakota.

I sort of understand your point about crushing the competition, but wouldn’t this also hurt his business?

I can’t imagine anyone in the oil/gas business purposefully doing something like that. Is all of that play already leased or something?

...but wouldn’t this also hurt his business?

I don’t think at this point Soros really cares. he already has his. He is an admitted limousine liberal, and admits to “kicking away the ladder” so no one else can prosper. It’s about power, not profit. And part of his power trip is to tear down this country, by unscrupulous business practices (of the likes that has gotten him a death sentence if he sets foot in Malaysia), and by funding “progressive” groups to do his bidding via regulation. You listen how the Hard Left talkers like Mike Malloy, Thom Hartmann, Ed Schulz, and Rachel Maddow bash the rich as evil exploiters, and Soros, their sugar daddy, fits the description perfectly. But of course Soros is entirely immune from such scrutiny, in fact I heard one Minnesota Democrat say that we need more Georgy Schwartz’s out there buying off elected officials.
Yes, I fell back to using his original name, when he was selling out his fellow Jews to the Nazi’s to be sent to the camps, then looting their property. Which he freely admits with no regrets. Truly Satanic.

‘I sort of understand your point about crushing the competition, but wouldn’t this also hurt his business?’

When Soros’ group invested heavily in Progress energy, they were in the process of, or heavily involved in ‘cap n trade’. Progress laid off a few hundred workers, pronounced they were going ‘green, and then bought Duke energy to be one of the largest energy conglomerates in the world.

Of course they have to demonize the gas industry. They must devalue it so they can later buy it at depressed prices and take over gas production and delivery.

Here is a thread on some speculation on this and the recent death of Ashley Turton, wife of an energy lobbyist.

The KOG play in the Bakken is generally oil, with only some gas. Soros will play both ends against the middle if he can make a buck.

Thank you. That is some good information. Not that it’ll sway some of the enviro-nutjobs that I have to deal with from time to time, but good to know.

Thanks for not posting it as a blog. American Thinker’s blogs are usually as good as its regular essays.
