It starts like a joke — Gov. Rick Scott walks into a Gainesville Starbucks — but one patron wasn’t laughing. Scott stopped in at the coffee chain for a cup Tuesday after touring the recently opened factory and headquarters for biopharmaceutical company Nanotherapeutics. Cara Jennings, a former Lake Worth city commissioner, saw Scott in the downtown store and ripped into him, from her seat, over health insurance and cuts to women’s health services, and calling him an expletive

Record cold temperatures for early April have swept into some Northeast and Great Lakes cities to begin this week. Subzero readings were even observed near the Canadian border in northern Michigan, northern New York and northern Maine Tuesday morning. More record cold is possible on Wednesday morning in the Northeast. Then the cold will become more expansive late this week due to yet another southward dip in the jet stream which will allow more arctic air to push south from Canada.

(CNSNews.com) - Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx told a crowd in North Carolina Tuesday that “only 49% of low-income neighborhoods have sidewalks” while more affluent areas have near 90%. In order to have a society where “everyone has a shot at the American Dream, than it’s imperative that we acknowledge these challenges.” Foxx made the comments to the Charlotte Rotary Club where he discussed the ways that infrastructure should connect people to opportunity. During his speech, Foxx referenced a map of Atlanta that showed areas of pedestrian and bicycle accidents. “The grey areas represent communities of concentrated poverty. This is representative...

It if walks like a duck and quacks like a duck - it is a duck. If Donald Trump was running for president on the Democratic ticket, would you vote for him? Of course you would. Is it becoming more and more difficult to make excuses for Donald Trump? Did you know that Scott Walker is a loser because he did not raise taxes to balance his budget? Do any of you Trump supporters know what the federal deficit is? There is not enough taxpayer money in America to pay that off. Did you know that women should be prosecuted...

Army Gen. Lloyd Austin relinquished command in Tampa, Fla., on Wednesday of the U.S. forces fighting the Islamic State –– as a bit of a sour note hung in the air back in Washington. President Obama has been consistently criticized for a 2014 comment to the New Yorker magazine that the Islamic State, as it invaded Iraq from Syria, was merely the “jayvee.” In other words, it was not to be taken seriously. Months later, the terror army controlled large swaths of Iraq and Syria, forcing Mr. Obama to ordered a new war. Then, The Atlantic’s Jeffrey Goldberg interviewed Mr....

The FBI submitted a classified declaration to a federal court judge late Friday explaining details about the bureau's "pending investigation" into the use of a private email server by Democratic presidential frontrunner Hillary Clinton. The declaration addresses why the FBI can't publicly release any records about its probe in response to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit filed by VICE News.

You may not be interested in the alleged affairs of the presidential candidates, but the affairs of the candidates are very interested in you. Our media flask is now overflowing with smutty stories primed by the forthcoming issue of the National Enquirer, which alleges on its cover that Ted Cruz has had “5 Secret Mistresses.” Only by depositing yourself in a news quarantine this weekend will you escape the story’s heavy breathing. Cruz denounces the piece, which I’ve not yet obtained, as “utter lies,” and claims it was planted by Donald Trump. (Trump denies it.) But either way, it restarts...

"I don't make a habit out of supporting people who attack my wife and attack my family, and Donald Trump is not going to be the Republican nominee," Cruz told reporters Friday afternoon, his clearest suggestion yet that he could not back the billionaire if he is the GOP's standard-bearer in the general election. . . . "I want to be crystal clear: These attacks are garbage," Cruz wrote on Facebook. "For Donald J. Trump to enlist his friends at the National Enquirer and his political henchmen to do his bis bidding shows you that there is no low Donald...

For years, conservatives have told themselves the pretty bedtime story that they represent a silent majority in America -- that most Americans want smaller government, individual rights and personal responsibility. We've suggested that if only we nominated precisely the right guy who says the right words -- some illegally grown Ronald Reagan clone, perhaps -- we'd win. Donald Trump's impending nomination puts all of that to bed. There can be no doubt: The Republican Party has successful killed the legacy of Ronald Reagan. By consistently moving to the left in every presidential election, by granting the left its general premise...

Senator Ted Cruz of Texas said on Friday that Donald J. Trump bore responsibility for “creating an environment” that encourages violence at his events. Speaking to reporters at a local Republican dinner outside Chicago, where Mr. Trump had just canceled a rally amid fierce confrontations between his supporters and protesters, Mr. Cruz began by saying that the “protesters who took violence into their own hands” were responsible for the episode. “But in any campaign, responsibility starts at the top,” Mr. Cruz continued. “And when you have a campaign that disrespects the voters, when you have a campaign that affirmatively encourages...

WASHINGTON, D.C., March 8, 2016 (LifeSiteNews) -- Marco Rubio is staunchly pro-marriage, but he’s facing questions after the revelation that he is appointing Paul Singer, a major gay “marriage” proponent, as his campaign finance chairman. Politico speculated that the choice is part of a Wall Street campaign to stop Donald Trump.  Merco Press claimed the choice "shows just how willing Rubio is to risk voter backlash in order to continue raising money for his campaign march." Singer founded the hedge fund Elliot Management Corporation, and is worth about $2.2 billion according to Forbes. In 2012, he started a Super PAC...

Proclaiming Hillary Clinton "the best change maker I have ever known," former President Bill Clinton on Tuesday told a crowd at an Evanston synagogue his wife was the most experienced and best-qualified candidate to serve as the nation's next commander in chief. "You might say, 'Why have they been so mean to her since she left the secretary of state's office,'" he said of Republicans. "You have to understand this is their method of operation. They're scared to have to run against her, because they know if she becomes the president, she'd be the grown-up in every room and she'll...

Presidential contender Hillary Clinton continued to set her sights on the general election Saturday, barely mentioning her Democratic rival Bernie Sanders and the caucuses and primary contest that took place that day. Clinton addressed the Michigan Democratic Party in Detroit and condemned her Republican rivals for the personal attacks that have consumed the GOP primary. “We have allowed our politics to be hijacked by extreme ideologues,” Clinton said. "We all know the stakes keep getting higher, and the rhetoric we’re hearing from other side just keeps sinking lower," she continued, referencing Thursday's GOP debate when Donald Trump, Marco Rubio...

There are some things to like about Trump. But, it looks to me like these are the possible outcomes with this guy: 1. He is truly a conservative leader, i.e. will appoint truly conservative judges, will stand against abortion and Planned Parenthood, against gay marriage (and for religious liberty), against any form of federally mandated healthcare, will balance the budget, and will defend the Constitution in total--and he will be elected President. 2. He is truly a conservative, but will lose to Hillary--primarily because his negatives are so SKY HIGH that millions will absolutely NEVER vote for Trump, including an...

EXCLUSIVE: A senior Hillary Clinton aide has maintained her top secret security clearance despite sending information now deemed classified to the Clinton Foundation and to then-Secretary of State Clinton's private unsecured email account, according to congressional letters obtained by Fox News. Current and former intelligence officials say it is standard practice to suspend a clearance pending the outcome of an investigation. Yet in the case of Cheryl Mills, Clinton's former chief of staff at the State Department, two letters indicate this practice is not being followed - even as the Clinton email system remains the subject of an FBI investigation....

Hillary Clinton peeled away from the balloting under way in South Carolina on Saturday to make a quick campaign stop here, hoping to energize voters ahead of Super Tuesday on March 1, when Alabama and several other southern states vote. Speaking at Miles College, a historically black college near Birmingham, she hit mostly on economic themes of income inequality and job creation and delivered a forceful defense of President Barack Obama’s record. "I don't think President Obama gets the credit he deserves," she said, drawing cheers and applause from an audience among whom he remains beloved. Calling him a "young,...
