Baltimore police officers routinely discriminate against blacks, repeatedly use excessive force and are not adequately held accountable for misconduct, according to a harshly critical Justice Department report being presented Wednesday. The report, the culmination of a yearlong investigation into one of the country’s largest police forces, also found that officers make large numbers of stops — mostly in poor, black neighborhoods — with dubious justification and unlawfully arrest citizens for speech deemed disrespectful. TUKWILA, Wash. -- Tukwila police are investigating after a fight at a mosque escalated into a stabbing late Sunday night. Two policewomen were attacked and wounded with a machete by an attacker who shouted “Allahu Akbar” outside a police station in the Belgian city of Charleroi on Saturday. The attacker, a man, was shot by a third officer, Charleroi police said on Twitter. He later died in hospital, according to Belgian national broadcaster RTBF. Police said the attacker shouted "Allahu Akbar" ("God is great" in Arabic) as he lunged at the officers outside a police station. One of the police officers suffered severe face wounds. The confrontation between O'Neal and the officers happened about 7:30 p.m. Thursday after officers tried to stop O'Neal as he drove a Jaguar that had reportedly been stolen in Bolingbrook. A traffic stop late Thursday night led to a shooting that killed a San Diego police officer and wounded a second officer and a suspect in Southcrest, where police searched for hours for other possible suspects. The names and service history of the male officers, both part of the department’s gang suppression unit, were not released.
