Police union: Clinton snubbed us
The Hill ^ | August 6, 2016 | Jonathan Swan

Top officials at the biggest police union in the country are upset with Hillary Clinton, saying she snubbed them.

The leader of the National Fraternal Order of Police told The Hill that the Democrat sent a signal through her staff that she wouldn’t be seeking the union’s endorsement.

"It sends a powerful message. To be honest with you, I was disappointed and shocked," said Chuck Canterbury, the president of the National Fraternal Order of Police. "You would think with law enforcement issues so much in the news that even if she had disagreements with our positions, that she would’ve been willing to say that."

Clinton’s opponent, Donald Trump, is now actively seeking the union’s support as he trumpets a “law and order” message on the campaign tail.

Canterbury spoke to The Hill in a telephone interview Friday, shortly after he left Trump Tower in Manhattan.

He and other leaders of the police union — which says it represents 335,000 members — visited with Trump on Friday morning to sound out the Republican nominee about his positions on issues of importance to law enforcement officers. Politico first reported the meeting.

The union will not be meeting with Clinton because her campaign decided not to fill out a questionnaire that is required for seeking the police union's endorsement.

"We were talking to the highest levels of the campaign, and we had all indications that she was going to return the questionnaire," Canterbury said.

"And on the deadline date we were advised that they declined."

She, just like Obama and the other open borders adherents want a U.N. police force not restrained by our constitutional law but answering only to Tri-Lateral Commission and or Bilderberger higher ups.

That would interfere with her BLM endorsement. Perhaps you didn’t send enough cash with the questionnaire...........

Police unions are funny. Their primary instinct is to cozy up with the liberal tax & spend crowd, then dip the other toe into the conservative "cops are sacred" pool for policy and protection from the "tax & spend" liberals they so worship for the money.

It's downright confusitizing!

Of course the criminal leader of a party designed to appeal to criminals does not want police endorsements. That would alienate their base, and their politicians.

“Were they considering supporting her? Why?”

Union officials always support Democrats but most individual cops don’t anymore.

This is dangerous for the Unions. In 1988 when Bush the elder ran he got the endorsement of a Police Union, and I drove by and saw him in front of the Springfield MA Police Station get as he got the endorsement. That was the good news...

The bad news...

Springfield is a Democrat town and the Police payed dearly for it, i.e. no raises and extended contract in limbo for years because they went against the Apparatchiks in City Hall.

Unless the Police Unions ( 4 or 5 of them I hear ) Nationally think the momentum is in their favor to endorse DJT and not endure reprisals, I say go for it.

To many Big Democratic Cities, It is gonna take Brass Cohones to do it, G-d bless them if they do...

1996. The Fraternal Order of Police supported Bill Clinton. Crime Bill? I think not. It was a Union(economic) thing.

My wife’s cousin is a state trooper. She told us that the police feel as if they are under attack in this country and the federal government is definitely not on their side. It would be interesting to see what % of law enforcement officers, active military, and veterans vote for Trump vs. Clinton.

She was too busy smoozing fans in her Black and Brown Press Fan Club. She called it a press conference, and they cheered every lame response she could come up with. It doesn’t take much to impress those media Democrats.

Chuck, WTF did you expect? She endorses BLM, who is openly calling for the killing of police.

Why would you think that you could even communicate with this beast of the underworld, much less get her support?
