Free Republic

I like to jog in the spring & summer. There is a house down the road from me where the owner let his dog run free. Many times it would come up to the edge of the property and bark. I was always concerned, but he assured me it was harmless. Then, one day, it ran after me and bit me good. He gave me first aid and drove me home, but it took about a week (and 2 doctors visits) to get the infection under control. About 3 weeks later, was well enough to jog again and (sure nuff) he had his dog running loose. At that point, I told him point blank that I would sue his ass if his dog ever bit me again. He ended up getting a new dog which is less confrontational.

$13,000 seems reasonable, but not sure how extensive the damages were.

Ever been bitten by a dog? It hurts like hell, and then the infection comes. I would sue too.
