On NBC, DEM Rep. --former . Gov Jennifer Granholm (D-MI)-- again repeated VP Biden's line that that was the info we got from the intel, at the time of the attack, and that it was the REP. that cut the defense, thus(as a result) it affected (somehow) the security around the embassy... My question is, why is it that liberals can not stop hammering us on Iraq and refuse to take the truthful answer that we all thought that Saddam Hussein had WMD according to our intel at the time? -- BTW The DEM Mayor Kasim Reed (D-Atlanta) kept spinning...

MIDLAND — Michigan’s 60,000 home health care aides will no longer be deemed government employees — meaning they cannot be forced into a government employee union and have dues withheld — as a result of legislation signed today by Gov. Rick Snyder. The next step is for the Michigan Department of Community Health to immediately stop the collection of dues from subsidy payments intended to assist developmentally disabled adults and the diversion of those funds to the Service Employees International Union, said Patrick J. Wright, director of the Mackinac Center Legal Foundation. “Ending this lucrative charade is terrific news for...

Amid Democrat attempts to use the Trayvon Martin shooting as a means to push for the repeal of Stand Your Ground laws, it’s been interesting to note how many Democrats have a past that includes support for them. For example, on April 2nd, I had a post on Big Government that highlighted how former Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm, a Democrat, used her Current TV show to lambaste Stand Your Ground laws, and to blame Republicans for the existence of such laws in the first place. However, as I showed, the dirty little secret is that Granholm signed Michigan’s Stand Your...

According to The Detroit News, former Gov. Jennifer Granholm made a deal with a group of wealthy and politically connected individuals in Oakland County to use state pension funds to guarantee $18 million they borrowed to set up a film studio in Pontiac, essentially making the pension fund the “co-signer” on the loan. The “business model” for this studio was completely dependent on another of Gov. Granholm’s corporate welfare schemes, a subsidy program that paid up to 42 percent of film producers’ Michigan expenses. No reputable economist has ever defended these subsidies, which are pure “political development” programs, not economic...

(Jennifer) Granholm's first night on Current TV offered plenty of fodder for her fans and critics alike. “The War Room With Jennifer Granholm” tonight joined the prime-time lineup on the left-leaning cable channel half-owned by former Vice President Al Gore, and her show will run at least through the November elections. “I'm obsessed with democracy,” the former Michigan governor said, by way of introducing the first episode, which combines standard talking-head political analysis with pre-produced segments. “I've been there on the ground when people have lost their jobs, their homes, their loved ones overseas.” Since cable political talk shows do...

Keith Olbermann, who came to Current TV this year to remake the channel and compete against his old home, MSNBC, is sitting out the biggest political nights of the season. Despite being the biggest star on the fledging channel, Mr. Olbermann is not scheduled to anchor Current’s coverage of the Iowa caucus or the New Hampshire primary in January. Instead, Current’s other prime time anchors, Cenk Uygur and Jennifer Granholm, will be joined by the channel’s chairman, the former vice president Al Gore. Mr. Olbermann also was noticeably absent from two special reports that Current produced after Republican debates in...

Is Sarah Palin qualified to be president? Well, why not ask the woman who played in while prepping Joe Biden for the 2008 vice presidential debate? MIRS did ask Jennifer Granholm in our weekly podcast before the New Year. Her answer? "I don't think so." For more on that interview, you can listen here.

Touted as an Ivy-League-educated 'genius', the results simply aren't there... sound familiar? A guest-post by Hannah McKale: The After Effects of Jennifer Granholm's Failed Governance In her 2006 State of the State address, Jennifer Granholm declared, “You are going to be blown away!” in regards to the hopeful future Michigan had. She claimed her attempts to attract jobs using foreign investments would both diversify the job climate as well as allow the economy of Michigan to move away from the auto-making industry. She must really regret making those statements, despite being oddly keen on the events of years to come. Now...

The headline of a story in today's Detroit Free Press characterizes Gov. Jennifer Granholm's understanding of the state film production subsidies: "Goal of film tax credit is jobs, not more revenue." There's a story from the 1960s about the late economist Milton Friedman visiting a large public works project in a third world country that was funded by U.S. foreign aid. Given the substantial investment, the famous economist was surprised to see thousands of men with shovels moving dirt one spadeful at a time. He asked his host, "Why don't they use bulldozers?" "It creates more employment this way," came...

Lansing, MI—As the snow pack just barely edges the unemployment rate, Governor Jennifer Grahnolm has kicked off her new advertisement in hopes that it will help change the sluggish tourism business in Michigan. In February, she’ll unveil a brand new advertisement, asking Americans to “Experience Michigan”— something she’s sure will help the failing car industry. With Granholm’s second term as governor winding down, many have felt this term falls well short of incompetence. Experts have all agreed that her term has set women back almost 100 years, and that “as an example of women, Granholm makes people question how it...

Election 2010: The back-to-back Senate retirements of Byron Dorgan and Chris Dodd may be just the beginning. The people have seen the future of health care reform and found it doesn't work. Apres moi, le deluge. We don't know what the Mayan calendar says about 2010, but it's starting to look like the end of the world for Democratic electoral prospects. Americans who watched in shock as government tried to step between them and their doctors, may have the last laugh. The tea party isn't over until the angry mob votes. As rage grew over the attempt to nationalize one-sixth...

Detroit — This week’s “The Business of Plugging In” electric vehicle gabfest in Motown was a Who’s Who of powerful Big Auto execs, Big Green honchos, and Big Government officials — but it was the power of the American consumer that had all of them gnashing their teeth. In the conference’s final panel discussion, Kleiner Perkins partner and green zealot Ray Lane worried about how to force a carbon tax on Americans when we have to deal “with the four-year election cycle.” Fellow panelist and Michigan governor Jennifer Granholm (who insists on calling her state tax hikes “investments”) blurted out:...

LANSING, Mich. - Gov. Jennifer Granholm as expected has rejected a proposed ban on a late-term procedure that opponents call partial-birth abortion. Granholm announced Friday she vetoed the bill recently passed by the state Legislature. The bill was designed to mirror a federal ban that was ruled constitutional by the U.S. Supreme Court last year. The state-level measure does not include an exception for a mother's health, which Granholm says is why she won't support it. Granholm vetoed a 2004 ban, but hundreds of thousands of voters signed petitions that allowed the bill to become law with only the approval...

Coldwater, MI (LifeNews.com) -- Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm ordered state officials to carry out a medical examination on jailed assisted suicide crusader Jack Kevorkian. The exam comes after the Michigan Parole Board recently turned down another request to commute his sentence. While Kevorkian and his attorney claim he has less than six months to live, the board said an independent doctor couldn't certify that. Wanting a second opinion, Granholm wants to confirm whether the former pathologist is near death or not. "The governor is not in the business of second-guessing our courts, but she has commuted sentences of prisoners with...
