(Jennifer) Granholm's first night on Current TV offered plenty of fodder for her fans and critics alike.
The War Room With Jennifer Granholm tonight joined the prime-time lineup on the left-leaning cable channel half-owned by former Vice President Al Gore, and her show will run at least through the November elections.
I'm obsessed with democracy, the former Michigan governor said, by way of introducing the first episode, which combines standard talking-head political analysis with pre-produced segments. I've been there on the ground when people have lost their jobs, their homes, their loved ones overseas.
Since cable political talk shows do not lend themselves well to objective analysis, the viewer's opinion of the show likely will depend on how he or she feels about the former Michigan governor. Although many viewers on either side of the spectrum likely noticed a few bumps at the outset.
Granholm took some time getting comfortable in the live-TV format. Early on, Granholm often seemed to look into the wrong camera, struggled with the Wolf Blitzer-ish interactive screen and drifted between talking points. The set resembled a basement decked out with political posters, and Granholm was dressed casually in jeans and a blazer. (She later asked Facebook followers whether her outfit was appropriate.)
Granholm was on more solid footing when conversing with her guests, and her roster for the first night featured prominent (mostly liberal) names. In the first half of the show, New York Times analyst Nate Silver broke down the likely aftermath of Mitt Romney's presumed victory in the Florida Republican primary. Massachusetts Democratic Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren, in a prerecorded interview, discussed campaign finance and called on members of Congress to sell any stock they own before taking office.
Though the show obviously tilts left, Granholm did spend a few minutes with Newt Gingrich's Florida campaign co-chair Bill McCollum, who said Gingrich had no plans to step aside. She spent more time with former White House press secretary Robert Gibbs got more screen time, and Granholm took viewers on a tour of Obama's campaign war room.
The show closed with a comic segment from fellow Current TV personality Brett Erlich. The idea of something he called the Quarter Turn Method candidates developing their campaign strategies by flipping a state's quarter and talking about whatever's on the back was clever, but suffered from a cheesy presentation.
Lie No. 1.
We're a republic, moron.
...”Granholm took viewers on a tour of Obama’s campaign war room.”
It’s probably just a dummy war room.
She bolted from Michigan as fast as she could. She absolutely detroyed the economy there, and the UAW secured the day off for it’s members to vote for her, AlGore and Obama.
The stupidity of Granholm knows no bounds.
She is too dumb to be human and can only be a robot sent by Canada purposely to destroy us.
sooo....... the canadian socialist feminazi former governator is trying to sell her brand of socialism on tv now.... she managed to completely destroy a state, and now wants a national stage... screw her, she could not even find a job here after she was done...
Dammit Jen, I’m an economist, not a miracle worker.
Well she teaches economics at Berkley. Lets not forget that she was Obama’s economic advisor on his campaign.
Yeah, your "governance" pretty much guaranteed that result would happen to job holders.
Do these political posters make my butt look fat??
“The War Room”? What does that show focus on? What she turned Detroit into?
(She later asked Facebook followers whether her outfit was appropriate.)
4 out of her 7 friends thought she looked like a stone cold babe.
“The set resembled a basement decked out with political posters, and Granholm was dressed casually in jeans and a blazer...”
...and those glasses designed to make anyone look intelligent.
Possible concept for a Saturday Night Live skit.
It's not a lie. Lefties ARE obsessed with democracy. They know a true democracy will bring about the end of the U.S. of A.
Lefties SAY they are obsessed with democracy.
What they mean is they want the power over others.
They say whatever sounds nice to those they intend to dominate.
As someone who lives in michigan I can tell you she ruined this state! Engler had us prosperous and booming. Everyone had jobs and money and credit and homes. She came along and now its like a warzone! I still have a hard time believing that she was voted in twice. I think that its rigged. there were very few people that would have voted for her a second time and yet she won easily.
They probably used the voting rolls for the 60’s in Detroit!
“4 out of her 7 friends thought she looked like a stone cold babe.”
Those 4 were her lesbian friends from Ann Arbor and Berzerkley including her husband.
That commie bitch destroyed Michigan. Pay me the money you owe me, you flea-ridden whore.
Hahaha!! So true.
