Colorado Sen. Mark Udall, a Democrat running in a tight re-election race, asked for a do-over during a TV interview on Friday night when he couldn't come up with the names of the three most influential books he'd ever read. 'Oh wow,' he said. 'That's the toughest – the, uh, three most influential books in my life–' Gathering his composure during a live news broadcast on 7News in Denver, he came up with one. 'Profiles in Courage. The, um, uh –.' After a three-second pregnant pause, the stumped senator asked for another chance. 'Let me think. We can play this...

President Obama held a “rare” Saturday-night meeting “convening national security staffers and public health officials to discuss the threat of Ebola.” Twitchy reported that the president was golfing earlier in the day, which might help explain why the meeting had to be held late at night. Check out this EXCLUSIVE photo from inside the W.H.! pic.twitter.com/4ZwlWVFYXs— Caleb Howe (@CalebHowe) October 19, 2014

This Texan takes bumper stickers to a whole new level. A photo of a truck with Texas tags that features on the tailgate one the most racist decals, complete with a real (and fresh) banana, that targets President Barack Obama was posted to Reddit on Thursday. "Does this Socialist a** make my truck look too big," the decal, which appears to be professionally done, reads. It also includes photo of Obama dressed in Somalian garb from a 2006 meeting in the country. The image was taken in the East Texas town of Tyler at the intersection of Loop 323...

Glenn Beck on Wednesday used spaghetti and chocolate sauce to indicate just how quickly Ebola can spread. The segment was both hilarious (imagine Beck’s radio co-host, Stu Burguiere, pelting Beck with handfuls of spaghetti to simulate projectile vomiting), and horrifying when you saw just how exposed the health care workers reportedly were at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital. According to a statement by the co-president of National Nurses United, nurses who treated Thomas Eric Duncan — the man who flew from West Africa to Dallas with Ebola — had no real guidelines on how to deal with such an infectious disease,...

Bill from Vegas [case quotation]"… Gun carriers seem to not notice, or willfully ignore, that apparently-purposeless gun carrying is never going to be regarded as purposeless by bystanders...." Which is why I consider lawful open carry primarily to be a form of performance art. You're not against art are you, Mr. Lathrop? Do I first have to drop my Glock in a jar of urine or rub elephant dung on it to get you to respect my self-expression? Who are you to judge me anyway? Dammit, man, it's an aesthetic, not a dialectic. Okay, yea, I'm armed. But I...

A family have caused outrage after putting up a fake Halloween tombstone with President Barack Obama's name on. Jamilla Phillips says the decoration in a front yard in Edmond, Oklahoma, is offensive and lacks 'respect.' She said she has just moved into the neighborhood, but after seeing the sign felt compelled to speak up, saying she was worried about the effect it would have on children. The sign is on the family's front lawn next to 'I told you I was sick' and 'I'm a gonner now.' 'He is the president of the United States and it actually is about respect,' Phillips...

Just 39 cents a day is what Charles Daniels, as played by Hader, asked for to help the people of Africa. Could he be on a presidential ticket in 2016?”

Gwyneth Paltrow's Los Angeles neighborhood is home to some unwelcoming artwork. Posters plastered on telephone poles and utility boxes mock the Oscar-winning actress's support for President Obama ahead of his visit to her home for a Democratic fundraiser on Thursday. There appear to be two different posters, each tacked up in multiple areas around Brentwood. One features a photo of Obama, torn away from the American flag. The poster reads "Conscious Uncoupling," a phrase popularized by Paltrow and her ex, rocker Chris Martin, when they called it quits

Turner Broadcasting, the parent company of CNN, will cut its total workforce by about 10% in the coming weeks through a mix of buyouts, layoffs and other measures, the company said Monday. The reductions are part of a broader effort to save money and refocus investment, known internally as Turner 2020. The company said about 1,475 positions — out of 14,000 full-time positions worldwide — would be eliminated in the coming weeks. Within CNN Worldwide, where the workforce totals roughly 3,500, about 300 positions will be cut, according to a person with direct knowledge of the plan, totaling 8.5%.
