Facebook is banning private sales of guns on its flagship social network and its Instagram photo-sharing service, a move meant to clamp down on unlicensed gun transactions. Facebook already prohibits people from offering marijuana, pharmaceuticals and illegal drugs for sale, and the company said on Friday that it was updating its policy to include guns. The ban applies to private, person-to-person sales of guns. Licensed gun dealers and gun clubs can still maintain Facebook pages and post on Instagram. INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Jan. 29, 2016) - Gun purchases increased dramatically on and after Black Friday, and now sales of gun silencers are surging. The technical term for a silencer is a suppressor. Gun shops owners around Indianapolis say they're seeing an uptick in suppressor sales. "Last month we probably sold two or three suppressors, this month we've probably had six," said Brian Ludlow, owner of Indy Trading Post.

Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe will announce Friday his administration will restore handgun reciprocity agreements with almost all 25 states his attorney general, Mark Herring, previously announced the state would stop recognizing, The Washington Post reported. Nobody wants to take your guns. That's what most mainstream pro-gun control Democrats say ad nauseam at various rallies. There's also the "I support the Second Amendment, but…" that advocates of gun control say prior to offering some pie-in-the-sky policy proposals that usually venture into bans on so-called assault rifles, limiting magazine sizes, or an all-out ban on semi-automatic firearms. The Second Amendment is our only national gun law, and when it was written, they did not have a weapon of mass destruction - the AR-15, which can fire off hundreds of shots in the time a musket could only fire one. The Second Amendment only adds to our gun violence problems.

All adults, including pregnant women and new mothers, should be screened for depression as a routine part of health care, a government advisory group recommended Tuesday. Depression is a common public health problem, and screening simply involves health workers asking about certain symptoms even if patients don't mention them. The FBI "temporarily" halted efforts to process denial appeals on background checks, thereby leaving up to "7,100" Americans in limbo as to whether the federal government will allow them to buy a gun. According to USA Today, FBI Assistant Director Stephen Morris said the halt in processing appeals, which went into effect on January 20, became necessary because the number of Americans buying guns has overwhelmed FBI background check examiners.
